i have a necklace, that originally had a black collar and a green gemstone (elegant gemstone necklace i think it's called). i've worn it since the day i got it and now it has tarnished to a gold color. the entire thing; collar, gem, setting, everything. is tarnishing a common occurrance with jewelry?

No! The space expansion has mixed up our palettes for some necklaces, causing them to change color. I'm tracking down which necklaces have been affected. In the meantime, you may need to get your necklace re-made in the proper colors.

It's a mistake? I was actually liking the fact that it changes color (like gems and crystals)... and I liked the fact that plated necklaces along with other necklaces with the full color palette. Like with the Large Pendant, I think before the patch there was only one color to choose from, but now, there are 2 color selections, one for the necklace string thing, and the other for the jewel itself

I'm hating it. The textures look rocky and not smooth at all, PLUS all the colors are gone

A full palette is great - but retroactively mucking up the colors on our existing items is NOT cool. Bleh.

My stately necklace that I've worn for months and months went from Blue chain/ Emerald stone to become a Blue Stone/Green chain. I am thinking it's a reversal of the 2 palettes. I need to see more to be sure though.

AH! That's why I didn't notice - both my chain and the stone are red (this was beofre the necklace fix and I didn't knwo which color was which so I made them both the same).

Yeah.. true. The tarnished thing is kind of weird. Now that I think about it, itdestroys the real colors.
... but I mean if they made, for example, a red gem change color to like, a sparkly shimmering red-related color. It would be cool
*edit: fixed misspelling. butt has been changed to but.
