There is a LOT of goodies for Ithorians with last patch added, 80% of galaxy tailors has now seperate Ithorian clothing vendors and fulfilled with thousands of clothes.
Question is: "Are we fooling ourselves with Ithorians and making tons of clothes for Ithorians which will be less than 20-30 per server compared to 200-300 Ithorian cloth vendors?"
I'd like to point some facts (exceptions can be but does not brake the rules)
FACT 1:
Ithorians will be mainly created for being shipwrights and mostly not main toons.
FACT 2:
Not many will delete their main character to create an Ithorian in their server which they had a friend enviroment and certain skills
FACT3:
Not many females will want to look ugly by creating an Ithorian, so 90% of Ithorians will be males
FACT4:
Males do not care about clothing much (there could be exceptions but in this game not)
FACT5:
There will be no option to change characters species to new ones even for one-time offer. This is just a myth and hope from some.
Please take facts as example and lets discuss together...

I probably agree with most of what you have just said,
but just in case Devs from SOE read this
I would really really have changed my master tailor from albino zabrak to Ithorian!
but I am always so busy with customers, and cant afford 2 accounts,
that I cant take 2 months out to cancel char, start from scratch, and re-accumulate months worth of resourses & loot while regrinding up.
It just wont happen.
Maybe loyalty is a lost attribute in this game now, but I owe it to my Guild and customers to supply them with their garments.
Just in the outside chance its ever happens , for the record
I am just an Ithorian trapped in a Zabrak body
LET ME OUT !!

I think that's true to a certain extent - however, once phase 6 of the village hits, I expect people to be unlocking and possibly making an Ithorian. I would be reluctant to make an Ithorian my main, because it is "ugly" (yeah, I'm a girly girl) but as an alt, I think it would be okay.
I'm guessing that it will be too hard to keep Ithorian gear stocked because not enough will sell and there are too many schematics. What is likely to happen is that we will end up with a handful of tailors throughout each galaxy who specialize in Ithorian wearables, and the rest of the tailors abandon them after a few "drop to stockroom"s at the end of the month.

When I unlock I'm definitely making an Ithorian. Of course, I'm set as far as his clothing goes.
To n'Jessi's point about Ithorian "specialists" I don't see that as too far off from how Wookiee clothes are now. Exactly the opposite of Ithorian wear there are too few choices so most Wooks settled for a look they like ages ago and there's little enticement to bring them back to the shop, especially since armor appeared. Not many peope keep well stocked Wookiee vendors at this point. I keep one with 400+ items at all times since I feel an obligation towards my own kind.
I'm not sure what research you did to come up of your figures tuls but it feels to me like you're highly exagerrating the number and stock levels of Ithorian vendors as well as underestimating the number of Ithorian characters that will be created. I think there will be a steady influx of Ithorian charaters over the next few months, people who jump and have well stocked vendors will make some money during that time. Will it be a lot? Probably not... but I'd wager most tailors are used to being the lowest paid of all the crafting professions anyway.
