I am retiring because, finally, I can pass the torch without leaving my successor in the middle of a huge project.
JTL beta is over. The top 5 is done. If I don't go now, there won't be a good transition point until after the CB sandbox is over. So now is good.
I've always thought that it was a good idea to give others a chance at the role. There are many community members who are good contributors, who deserve a crack at it. A different voice may focus on different aspects, and help the profession in a different way than I ever could.
As for my successor: there are a lot of good contributors in the tailoring community. It's important that every member of the community have a fair chance at this. I've made sure that Tiggs and TH know that members of Team Hawtpants should not have "special consideration" and I encourage everyone who feels they are qualified for the job to apply (posting on how to apply will be up shortly).
I'm not going anywhere. I'm not giving up SWG, or tailoring, or this forum. This isn't in response to any "secret information" that I have. It's just time for someone else to be in office.
The new tailor corr will not be alone. I will still be here to help. To make things easier, I will continue to maintain, edit, and update the FAQ and Link directory and my successor can choose whether/when to take over that function. My successor will also get a goody bag of the most recent top 5 (MSWord/Excel form). I don't plan to play overbearing momma hen, but I will be around when needed.
I thank you all for giving me the opportunity to represent this wonderful community, and for your helpfulness and humor that made this forum a fun place to be.

See you on the other side!

NOOOOO!!
hehe, just kidding. It will be a bit strange seeing someone else be the tailor corr, but if you say its time for someone else to step up to the plate then thats cool too. Im glad to see you will still be around the forums though.

NOOO!!! It's sad, because I've read a lot of these boards and you are my fave correspondent by far. Whoever takes your place has some big shoes to craft. hehe lame joke!
Wow...a lot of correspondents are quitting. It makes me a little nervous.

I think I can answer why there are "so many" quitting. We just handed in the top 5, so it's a good time, as I indicated above, to step down. I was put into office and the top 5 was due less than a month after that. I wouldn't wish that fate on anyone.

Best of luck n'Jessi. You've been a great correspondent and your successor will have some might big dress slippers to fill.

I am really sad to see you step down as correspondent.
I would be hard pressed to name a community that has benefitted as much as the tailors have from your thoughtful advice and suggestions and humor. We have been spoiled by having someone as oragnized as you and your shoes will be tough to fill by the next correspondent. Thanks for everything! Glad to see you'll at least still be around giving your input to the community. Take care!

N'Jessi,
While it saddens me to see you step down as our Correspondent, I can fully understand the strain the position can impose on someone. After all, we all came to SWG for entertainment, not a second job.
You have been a wonderful person to get to know. Your humor, tenacity, and overall good nature has always made the Tailor forums stand out as one of the best. Your personality is infectious, and I believe has been the most influential factor in all of us coming together to offer constructive ideas, support, and general comrade amongst all tailors.
I wish you all the best and look forward to still seeing you lead Team Hawtpants in the CU (those Ranger boys still don't stand a chance
).
