Thread: FAQ Help, pretty please, need verification on some issues.

So I printed out the FAQ (which is really the only manageable way to effectively edit it at this point). The FAQ is 24 pages, the link directory 12, and the customer FAQ is 7. My red pen is out and I'm slashing and changing stuff.

But, I realize that there are some issues that are still unclear post-CU. Can y'all help me figure these out, or verify them, so that I can update the FAQ properly?

1. Do factories deduct money from your bank account, the same way as houses do? (I think yes, but I want to confirm.)

2. Wookiee armor padding. Do we still experiment on this?

3. Are inspirations working for increasing grinding xp?

4. Are inspirations affecting socketing?

5. Speaking of socketing, how is the current rate (minus inspirations and other stuff)

6. Doctors no longer make fire blankets with synth cloth, right? EDIT: okay, I'm dumb, Doctors don't make any products, as Arthur pointed out. Do BE's use any of our products in medical items?

7. How the heck do skill tapes work now? (I really appreciate Akaara's preliminary work on this issue!)

8. BE bonuses ALREADY IN CLOTHING do not convert to the new bonuses, correct? (Thanks to Mira for compiling that BE guide which I'm totally going to steal)

9. BE bonuses in tissues do convert, yah?

10. What's the deal with this +25 thing? Same old display error, or are outfits actually giving us more than +25?

11. Are BE bonuses working properly? (I recall Fuschia's issue with them not working?)

12. Are any BE tissues broken? (As I write this I realize that Mira's guide probably handles it, but if it doesn't, I wanna know).

13. Limited-use schematics, the bonuses have not been changes, correct? (So some are now useless)

14. Is clothing still decaying in combat or is that bug squished?

15. Is global vendor search working, or does the page *still* not turn properly?


16. Edit: new question. Do armorsmiths still use fiberplast panels? My sources say no.


17. Another new question: has anything changed with other professions to which we provide components (architects & chefs)?

Some of these questions may seem obvious, but I have accumulated 130 hours of overtime at work in the months of March and April, and my in-game time has been drastically reduced. I have a lot of catching up to do (my life returns to "normal" in another week or so) so I ask you to help me out with even the obvious questions, so I can update the FAQ resources.

I'll try to help out where I can NJ .. tho I may just end up confusing you more o.O

1.) As far as I know .. yes.

5.) Still random for me not seeing anything really different. (That's without the inspiration buffs, I've not tried them out yet.)

8.) They do not convert that I've noticed.

9.) The tissues I had lying around did convert to the new stuff.

10.) Saw confirmed somewhere that even if it displays more .. the +25 is still in effect.

14.) My clothes still decay in combat (I think ... o.O) I'll have to check next time I go in game.

Hope this helps some. If I'm wrong. I'm sure someone will correct me hehe

12. Are any BE tissues broken? (As I write this I realize that Mira's guide probably handles it, but if it doesn't, I wanna know). The surveying tissues are broken. (And, no, my guide doesn't handle it, but it will. Thanks for mentioning it. )

13. Limited-use schematics, the bonuses have not been changes, correct? (So some are now useless) I haven't made any new stuff since the CU, but none of my old stuff changed.

1. Yes. My factories have sucked money out of my account post-CU, and I have received the email telling me that they're out of cash and switching over.

8. Yes. Which reminds me, I have some clothes to redo for my guildmates.

15. Since they added the text and fine category searches, I haven't had to go to the next page.

(Yeah, I haven't searched for anything really popular lately.)

Going from this post, would it be worthwile adding the resource requirements for the commonly requested component schematics to the FAQ for Customers and/or the FAQ for Tailors?

I guess I don't know how often that type of question gets asked on the forum instead of in-game.

Armor Padding's not listed at SWGCraft. (Neither are Ithorian clothes or the former uncraftables.)

I think so!

We still experiment but there is no confirmation yet whether the quality of the padding makes any difference in the armor yet.

3. Are inspirations working for increasing grinding xp?


It seems to!

4. Are inspirations affecting socketing?


No.

5. Speaking of socketing, how is the current rate (minus inspirations and other stuff)


Seems about the same. Yesterday I only had time to make a test outfit for defense tissues. One item got no sockets and the other got one.

I think that is right but I can check.

Yea. Clothing didn't convert but tissues did. Also anything on vendors did not convert.

If they weren't on a vendor they did!

According to the devs the +25 total cap is still there. The display error also seems to be there now.

It looks like the buffing, surveying and defense mods are not working right now. We can help heal battle fatigue though......

Many (most?) of them seem to be broken. Fortunately there are lots of correspondents who are tailors and can keep this issue going!

They forgot to change those.

They fixed that bug and clothing is no longer decaying in combat.

I am not sure! I should check.

Yes, and I know because I had about a week where I didn't put maintence in it, and every hour (it seemed) I got an email saying I needed to put maintence in it. It was pulling from my back account when I didn't. I wish vendors would do that....

I tried some inspiration buffs for a grinding session, but I didn't notice an XP change. However, I will admit I didn't watch it real close after my first test item.

I get 4 sockets for clothing going on vendors, and 1 socket on my BE clothing thatmy customer requested 4 sockets on... In other words, still totally random from what I've seen.

That is correct - Doctors no longer have ANY schematics, and we can now put out fires innately with no extra mediences.

I'm unaware that they've changed from out they use to work (+25 cap and all) other than the fact that if you have mutliple items on a CA, you can get all the mods if you have enough sockets. Each mod takes up a socket now.

In tissues and already made in cloths - As long as the cloths weren't in clothing, the mods changed over. Names did not, stats did - Vendor or no. I store all my stuff on a vendor, and when I pulled the item off my storage vendor and put it in my inventory, I saw the updated stats.

I'm answering 11 and 12 in the same paragraph here. I don't think there has been a lot of testing with the new doctor buffs (as I think doctor buffs are somewhat broken now anyway), but it's known that the survey skill is broken (Thanks for Arthur's test!) and melee/ranged defense either are broken or not working as expected.

My old ones didn't convert, but I haven't tried making any new ones.

Working fine for me! I *LOVE* how they fixed it so if you've seen the item once, you won't see it on the next page (or the next, or the next...) I <3 that change. (I'm not a bazaar addict, noooo.... ::coughs:: <.<

They no longer have any schematics in their tree, so I'd say that is correct.

The bonuses in clothing didn't change from what they were pre-CU, except strangely enough, if they were in crates.

I'll be testing this. Of course since so few tissues actually work right now, trying to determine if the +25 cap applies is almost a moot point.

The ones I've tested myself:


terrain negotiation: works


medical effeciency: works


survey: broken


mask scent: works


creature taming: useless (because of the change to taming vicious creatures)


From what others are saying:


melee & ranged defense: broken


medical augmentation: broken


unarmed damage: broken

Good point about the doctors, Arthur, and thanks for your help and expertise. Thanks to everyone else who has helped out so far! I've added a few questions up top to the initial post for clarification (mostly regarding supplying components to other professions).
