Is it not possible to make 4 socketed gloves anymore?

after a few tries, I just made a pair of link-steel reinforced gloves with 4 sockets. it took a few tries, but you usually don't get 4 sockets when you need it are you making gloves in the tailor boxes?

i made 5 leather gloves in a row ending out without no sockets at all.
I thought that was a bit odd so i crafted a pair of leather work gloves and got the same result.

Then i asked in out guild chat if anyone knew about this and a one of our armor smiths told me that he had the same problem with armor gloves.

So to be sure i wrote here on the tailor forum but maybe i should give it some more attempts.

ah, there lies the problem. leather gloves is an artisan item, and to get 4 sockets you need artisan experimentation (instead of tailor experimentation). you should have no problems with the leather work gloves given enough tries.

It took me about 8-10 attempts to get 4 sockets on a pair of leather gloves yesterday, that's with engineering 4, so I made a schematic for 50 black ones to keep my jedi customers happy

aha so i do the experimentation to get the 4 sockets, still using a clothing tool right?

or i have to get +artisan experimentation ca's to make then 4 socket?

Mine are for jedi suits aswell

Yep, you'll need engineering 4 to be able to get 4 sockets, still using the clothing tool. Artisan experimentation tapes might help improve your chances of getting 4 more often but its really up to you.

Takes awhile, but yes it can be done. I think I was succesful on the leather ones - make sure to make a schematic for it and run a crate through your factory so that you don't have to go through all the tries again

Ok, but here's what I don't understand. I was crafting something out of the Novice Artisan box - shorts or something I think. I was getting high socket counts on it - up to 4 sockets, and I don't even have Eng. 1 anymore. At first I thought maybe they had changed something with socketing recently so then I tried crafting some leather gloves and was immediately humbled again by no sockets. Is there something different about the clothing items in Novice artisan that will allow you to get high socket count in them where the rest of the items in Artisan depend on your Eng. level?
