Sorry if the the answer is really obvious but I have no clue whatsoever on how to do it and I'd extremly gratefull to anyone who helps me figure it out.

Well if i'm not mistaken, you have to be at Novice Tailor to be able to do it, and it can only be done to certain items. And i don't think you have to be near a crafting machine, but i haven't been away from one for a while, so i don't remember. You do, however, have to be near a crafting station to make certain items.

Master Scout, Novice Tailor and Pistoleer

Have to have the Novice Tailor profession skill box before you are able to change the second colour on items that can have their second colour modified.
