Ugh! I guess someone thinks us tailors are too powerful or something, lol, anyhow, in the next "big" update they are getting rid of the medical use bio component that we can add to clothing. Super! the one bio component worth using they are no taking away

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=bio-engineer&message.id=15867

First getting rid of any hope of clothing decay and experimentation, and now this. And they are actually paying these devs to do this stuff? Of all the cool stuff they could be adding, and all the blatent bugs they could be fixing, they spend time and effort pulling out useful stuff and making the game worse Sometimes I think this game would be better if they had no updates at all, just go with how the game was at launch indefinately.

I can understand your frustration, but keep somethings in mind here:

1) Last time I checked, the medical bio engineering components DIDN'T WORK. This is probably the reason they plan to remove it...and I am sure the removal is only temporary. I'm pretty sure they haven't fixed this problem, so it makes sense that they would remove it until they repair it.

2) They are not taking away "any hope of clothing decay and experimentation". They have not found a way to implement decay in a way that everyone is happy with. The decay they had in Beta was disliked by a majority of the Beta community. They do intend to implement decay, but they haven't found a reasonable way to do that justyet. So, they removed the Decay stats from clothing items because, since there is no decay at the moment, there is no reason to have this stat....and is if there is no reason to have this stat on items until decay is implemented, then there is no reason to have the ability toexperiment on clothes, since it will DO NOTHING.

Now, I usually don't post on these whiney "oh, they are ruining tailoring and therefor ruining my life!" posts, BUT I have become tired of seeing people totally pissed and misunderstanding something that is being done to IMPROVE the Tailors experience. Have some patience and some faith in the developers. You guys automatically assume that because they are removing things and changing things, that the changes are permanent and the removed features will be gone forever. This is not true. They are FIXING what is wrong. They are working to ADD decay and experimentation, but NOT until it works properly. ANYWAYS...I should stop here. I just think it's silly that people get so upset. They don't seem to realize that they are FIXING the game, and making it better. Just have some patience and wait a while. We will have decay and experimentation. We will have all the BE components that we want. You just have to WAIT.

Wow, well, that is certainly the "rose colored glasses" point of view on it, lol. I mean as far as tissues go, many of them are broken, so that doesn't explain why they removed this particular one. Also, many have reported that although it didn't give you extra abilities, the tissue did give you more healing power (able to heal more wounds with each stimpac or wound pac) so to say it wasn't working really isn't correct either.

As far as clothing decay and the experimentation being useless, there are enough threads on this so I won't debate it here, but let's just say many many tailors don't share this point of view, and again I fail to see how removing something indicates that they are fixing it.

One could ask.. why are we paying to play a beta game. it is obvious tthat the game was not ready to be shipped.. There are major issues everywhere with most profesions.. And lets face it ..those things that more players scream about get more attention.. So teh T-21 Rifle issue got allot more attention than tailors saying.. you know there is no future in this profesion and you are making it less and less fun.

I absolutely hate the whole 'pay for beta' thing. Do you people not realize that they could have kept this game in beta for years and when it released there would STILL be bugs. Rather than have a fun game (yes I did say that, there are lots of people who have fun with this game) that has some bugs and balance issues, you'd rather have absolutely nothing. And then you'd be the guy whining about how they keep pushing back the release dates. If you don't want to 'pay for beta' then go play something else genius. And let me know when you find that PERFECT MMORPG because every single one I've played has had balance/bug issues that are constantly being fixed.

Medical use is one part - of three on the biosensor tissue.

THAT one we knew has never worked.

I could have told ya that one was gonna get yanked - think about it, wear a piece of clothing and save spending skillpoints? All kinds of unbalancing.

Not sure how it ever got out of beta like that - but ummm, chaigra adds to business acumen and that one made it out of beta as well.

Huh? I fail to see what this has to do with the price of tea in China.

i knew it was going to happen. and, im glad.

im glad i didnt waste all my points and 2 months of gaming to get to master combat medic
just so a novice medic can heal just as effective as i can. why im sad they didnt just make
it so masters can use it, im not sad a player can purchase his way to the top.

in other comments, i look forward to mask scent and camo.

I can see your point there. Hmm, I guess my reaction was just one of dissappointment in seeing the bio additives which are already pretty limited in selection get more limited rather than working on diversifying them. But you are probably right that this one was an appropriate nerf.

As far as mask scent and cammo, those are (or will be) cool for those that have those skills (scouts and rangers). There seem to be a ton of people with scouting skills in this game, so that is potentially a huge market for us tailors to re-sell clothing to them.

Art, not that long ago you were asking all sorts of novice questions and now you want to state that Tailors have been nerfed ? Go look at some other professions and see what real trouble is.

The Med Mod has always had the potential to totally ruin another profession, I'm in favor of either removing it, or making it so it wont affect caps. I also support more and varied mods.

As a master bio-engineer and master tailor, I refuse to see any enhanced items atm. The bio-engineered tissues are broken and I refuse to mislead my customers.

You are complaining about a 'nerf' that will remove your ability to cheat your customers of shoddy goods. Furthermore, if you read the post, you would see that they are working on fixing the tissue line of bio-engineer. Instead of cheating your customers you will actually be able to provide them with something that works.

Sorry if I sound harsh but I have to explain to unknowing customers daily why they gotbroken stuff from bio-engineers and tailors. You should look forward to the upcoming patch

Will someone please tell me where anyone from SOE said that items created when tissues did not work will CONTINUE to not work once they fix tissues in general?

It has always been my assumption that theses things will work someday, and then all the items I crafted and sold will be worth what people paid for them. Please point me to the thread that says I'm wrong.

As I understand it, the medicine use was removed from the biosensors because it obviates an entire skill tree for Medics, Combat Medics, or Doctors (I forget which). But I have not seen a mention that the old-style medicine use biosensors will not work (again, when tissues are finally fixed), just that all the new biosensors will have have the medicine use bonus.

If it wasn't for disappointment, I wouldn't have any appointment.
