Feeling the squeeze in the skill point department, I've become interested in acquiring a shirt with a bonus to injury treatment so I can free up some medic boxes but I've been reading different reports about just how much of a bonus a shirt can give (and unfortunately it does have to be a shirt since apparently armor here is won on the legs without any layer of clothing for padding). I've seen claims of shirts that hit the cap of +25, but also hear that a single tissue with that stat would require a all the relevant resources to be near perfect stat-wise, then hear other reports about how sometimes tissue enhanced synthetic cloth can stack . . . needless to say, I'm becoming a very confused rodian and would appreciate some solid answers before I make requests on the galaxy trade boards.

Okay, first things first. Bonuses only work if you have the skill they're associated with. So you couldn't get the shirt then give up medic completely. Your sig says you're 1-0-0-0 in medic so you'd only be able to free up that one skill box.
Injury treatment tissues go into our synthetic cloth component. You can have a max bonus of +25 to one skill on your character, this includes BE clothing bonuses and skill tapes. If you put more bonus items on, your character sheet will show over +25, but the +25 is all that is supposed to work. According to the devs (and some testing), the character sheet showing more is just a bug, you won't get more than the +25 benefit no matter what the numbers say.
The average injury treatment mod per tissue is something like +17. I have heard of higher but have never found any personally. Two components with bonuses will stack to give the +25 bonus, however they have to be in different component slots in the item. So in other words, any slot that takes 2 factory crated synth would only give the +17 despite the fact that two +17 tissues went in it.
This is a bit of a problem, because while there are shirt schematics that need two slots of synth cloth, they all require crated factory synth. And so the extra bonus that goes into the same component slot is lost. Basically what all that means is that the tailor will have to waste at least two (in some of the shirts even more) BE tissues to get +25 in any of the shirts. Most tailors charge extra for that wasted tissue, so the shirt could be very expensive. If they don't charge extra, they are being very very nice to you and you should give them a big tip.
I'm not sure if I'm explaining it all that well! But BE clothing is a little complicated.
If you're willing to take a lower bonus (such as +17) you have many more options. But if you definately want a +25 shirt, your only real option is the Leather Trim Shirt (which would wind up making the tailor "waste" 4 factory components). There are other shirts that take synth in seperate slots, but they are all either female only or wookiee only.
So to make you a +25 Leather Trim Shirt, your tailor will need to have 6 factory crated synth cloths with bonuses to injury/wound treatment. It would be best for them to use +13 tissues. Since lower bonus tissues are less expensive, it's less waste than using high bonus ones. The leather parts of the leather trim shirt have a very limited color choice, so if you care about the colors at all, it's probably best to have them make a sample shirt to show you first.
Good luck! And I hope I haven't totally confused you...
