Imagine…

A collective of the greatest and most creative tailors on a server all displaying their wears at the same place, not on manequins, but on live models. A showing of original unique outfits, as opposed to the same things which half the server wears. Clothing lines with multiple models… or couples clothing. An exhibition to good fashion and creative tailoring.

I am looking to host an event such as this in the near future on my server. I come to you to, the tailors, as you are the ones who this event will be based around.

Where would be a good location to host event?

Player City Cantina (Small)

NPC Theatre

Vreni Island Ampitheatre

Ideas?

What would be a limiting factor on which tailors are able to display in the show?

How many different clothing lines?

How many models for clothing lines?

Couple designed matching clothes?

Who will model the clothing?

Individual Tailor

Friends/Customers of Tailor

Dancers/Entertainers(I can help on this front)

Post-show display

Would it be nice to put up a large house/PA Hall for all tailors taking part to display lines and locate vendors, as well as waypoints to main vendors. Would you mind helping with upkeep on display building for couple of weeks. (I think this would be more convenient for those who attended show to locate, rather than dumping a lot of waypoints on them.)

Well that is all I can think of at the moment. Please feel free to chime in. I need more ideas

Do tailors all generally keep to themselves?

Is this just a bad idea... some responses would be nice... even if they are negative.

i like this idea, was thinking about trying to do this myself in my player city, but as I am not master level yet, haven't really done anything w/ it yet. Would like to see something like this happen thou.

It's a terrific idea!

I started on the Tempest server day one when it opened... and right away I saw the potential in this idea... As a young tailor I would sit in the cantina all day and create custom fashions for the dancers and thier clients...it was a virtual fashion show ... great publicity. I Later staged a more organized fashion show. I am thinking of doing it again in my player city cantina and hosting it as a server wide event. Should be great fun!

Akasha, when you hosted the earlier fashion show, at what venue did you host it? Also, is there anything you did the first time, that worked or didn't work well, and what do you have planned for this second time? Also how many people did you have attending?

I hosted one outside the theater on coronet but luckily it was daylight so everyone could see.

Honestly, I had a hard time getting female models! The guys came out right away for modelling but the females I had to really hunt for. But that could be just my server.

How many different clothing lines?
I did three or four sections: Casual, funwear, combat, formal for both the men and women.

How many models for clothing lines?
male and female for each section and used 8 models altogether (I think its been quite a while)

Couple designed matching clothes? yes

Who will model the clothing? Find a band and dancers that you know and trust to help out, or post an add on your server board.

Individual Tailor: I did the whole thing, which was a mistake, should have had help from another tailor.

Just be organized and stick the date and time planned. If you hold in a major city, yell for advertisement. I had a really good turn out for mine. I had the models do combat moves, or dance. One thing that I should have done was have them walk through the crowd because people sitting far away could not see very well.
