+5 melee defense tissue?
I had a customer the other day tell me that my clothes with +4 tissue are only second rate and that he had seen +5.
I asked a friend if it was possible so he tried making some using meat that has 1 of the primary stats at 1000 and the others in 900's, the highest he could get experiment to was 91% which still only gave a +4 tissue so...is it possible?

People get +5 *very* rarely. I have never seen one in person, but it has been reported on the BE boards occasionally. It takes perfect resources and freakish luck with experimentation. I think your customer was wrong because they have not seen enough tissues around. +4 is a top quality tissue. +5 is some sort of mutant tissue that you will hardly ever see and should go for a lot of money!

You would need 100s in the stats. I have never, ever encountered a +5 tissue, and my BE distributors on Scylla are the best.
I will run this by them tonite, and I have never really discussed it too much with them, as they laughed at me when I asked what it would take

Tell your customer that you'd like to make a credit bet with them, and that youll give them one week to find a +5 piece of clothing, without an attachment. Then they'll see that your clothing is first rate, and +5 is a rare dream

if i made a bet with him i can guarantee he would turn up with a starship full of them, it's the way things go hehe
my tissue supplier makes some of the best stuff i've seen anywhere which is why it kind of took me by surprise.

That just helps with the freakish experiementation. You really have to have perfect materials too and still be really really lucky. I pretty much always have points left over when I make tissues, so any extra points I have would be wasted anyway.
