I just got a custom order for a lux gown, grand ball gown in Imperial Blue and Black.

Black is easy enough... that's the color I click when I'm making clothes for 99% of the males who ask for custom clothes

But Imperial Blue? I thought that uniform color was grey, or have I just never bothered to really LOOK closely before?

which color is this on my magical color pallete?!?

Any help is much appreciated.

Most likely the person who is asking for the custom order has gotten something from a tailor that names their colors (which I do, but boy is that tedious). There's really no definitive way of matching the color. Take a look at what the person is calling "Imperial Blue" and trial and error it is about all I can suggest.

I can't offer any help on Imperial Blue, although at a guess I'd say it's what I call 'navy,' but I can offer some help with the tedium of naming colors: clicky!

If its not too late, direct the customer to this website, Teli's Tailoring

Teli of Ahazi has a nice color chart of the 255 color pallet and your customer can choose the blue she means from this, and tell you which is it. Im thinking its the one I call 'dark blue', and that the previous poster calls 'navy'. I do name my colors too, but I dont have a name for every color, I just usually call it what it looks like to me.

Until the devs give us a numbering system, this is a pretty good way to make sure you get the color right for the customer.

As a follow up for this. I've posted my system for naming colors. Haven't gottn much use of it but it brings color in to the tent.

I made about 25 of the same shirts and made them mosly of the best selling colors with the exception of black and white, those are easy.

Clicky = This has sometimes come in handy when doing special orders from folks who didn't see the color they were looking for on the vendor.

Clicky=Allows them to examine one shirt, up close to be absolutly sure its the color they want

Maybe it's the color of the imperial logo? The star thingy with the circle around it?
