IMHO Tailoring is THEE most enjoyable crafting profession in this game... Why? It offers what the other crafting profession can't even come close to matching. In that it offers Creativeaty.. Sure you can Deck out a Droid with this mod or that. Make a large factory run of some nice Armor.. But Tailor you can have 1000's of vareations on clothing and outfit selections.

For me at least the downside is running a Tailor vendor.. Even before the limitations on the vendors. I found myself a slave to my vendors... Hand crafting 100's of peices of clothing got old very fast...

So I'd taken to a life as a Wandering Tailor.. Sure I fill Armorsmith orders make afew BE type clothing parts.. But I enjoy the face-to-face Crafting sessions with the customers.. Best part is watching them walk away wearing that outfitI just made for them, knowing there happy with there new look.. And with my Master ID skills.. I can make an even larger range of looks for them...

That to me makes Tailor the best Crafting Profession this game has to offer...

I've long since given up the vendor's...

I fully agree. One vendor problem I have is that I spent hours the first time loading up my vendor with tons of stuff and when the 30 days ran out I had to restock a bunch of stuff. I hate that. Until my town gets a shuttle port (hint, hint guys) I think I will keep facing this.

I think the face to face stuff is also more fun and rewarding.

I am with you on all points... More than half of all the clothing on my vendor is extra that I made trying to come up with new things for people to be better prepaired when I get that blessed face-to-face order. I pretty much use the vendor house examples of some styles and colors. I could really care less if I get 10 sales from the vendor, it's all worth it when I get that tell...

/Personinbadclothes tells you: Pardon me, do you do custom orders?

/think WOOHOO!!!

/reply, Why yes I do...

That is a pretty good day for the way I like to run things.

I am doing the same thing. I get more busines sitting in the cantina in Theed doing slices and custom outfits. I'm actually considering removing my vendors because my shop is losing money, plus the fact that I am carrying an alt just so I can have master merchant.

I made my path on vendoring. Actually I love my vendors, so my customers. With master merchant skills, my vendors turns into a displaycase of my works.

Most impressive thing is the image. Not what you craft. You know we all craft same things as master tailors. Once you made a name around your galaxy, no matter how much you do your sales, you are known and your waypoint sends to each others.

I'm not doing handcrafting. All of my works are factorised. I mean, my customers dont find 256 different color shirts on my vendors. But they do find what they look for. Played on many different proffession thru 2 galaxies. 34 different proffessions (yes, including Jedi on one, whichI quit playing after publish 10) and really no other proffession satisfied me as tailoring. All people are different on choices ofcourse. So all galaxy peoples are different, Bria wears different, Intrepid fashion is different, FarStar fashion is another different. So what is with vendoring is to analyze galaxies people and do experimentation sales on bazaars. Make your name out of them, then wherever your vendor is, people will come to you.

My vendor is 1.8k meters to closest non-pc city. But thanks to Force, my sales are good as they can be. Besides, nothing is satisfying as much as roleplay and whichever role you are in, you can get yourself dressed in two touch to your crafting tool

With new schematics coming soon*cough* it will be better hopefully

I read what you wrote and suddenly realized that you are a much better and more patient person than I. Personally I'm happy creating in my shop. Maybe a whole new color line for something in field wear that I didn't have on the vendors before. Maybe a new vendor entirely stocked with the basic blacks.

I just despise custom orders and how flaky it seems to make our customers.

Again, hats off to you!

I love my vendors and my merchant tent. I can craft when I want to and have time, put items up for sale and then watch the credits roll in and replace items when needed. I must say though, having a big selection on vendors is very important.

Will agree all points on the first post. (altho i do think Tailor/ID is even more perfect /grin)

And also agree with Chiana, having well stocked vendors is a must really. Not only does it mean far fewer custom orders (well per customer ratio anyway) but you end up getting far more popular. (pleanty of reasons but i wont go into detail)

I never began tailor for the money, i just became addicted (if that is possible) to making clothes, i am allways at the 2750 item cap, and thats just clothing. If i could bring myself to drop ID for master merchant i would, but i just cant

PS: Urgra, after you been going for a few months, the 30 day thing isnt so bad, its just a few every day, as it all spreads out a lot as things were bought/restocked over the months.

Well truth be know.. Tailor is my secondairy Profession really.. I make soo much money IDing players.. That I can afford to give out free outfits to people.. And often do. I never wear my Tailor Title. Sometimes a ID customer reads my Bio while I am IDing them and asks for this or that. But mostly I Tailor for friends, guildmates, players I like, players that seem to find thereimage important, or just noob players.. It is 100% enjoyment and 0% work that way LikeI said. I enjoy watching them walk away wearing my cloths. I never got the same satifaction watching another email saying so-n-so bught this or that off my vendor.. Seems removed from the whole experince.. That and I long ago made enough money that a vendor and another credit is pointless to me..

I would definitely have to agree on this subject (although we have to give Architects some credit on being creative in design also).

I had picked up Tailor on an alt just to try it out. My main is a Master Weaponsmith and I had my alt master Merchant. I didn't know what else to do, so I figured I'd pick up Tailor. I can't express how much fun it has been for me. Being able to create outfit, dress my friends and decorate my vendors in my creations. With Weaponsmith, it's the same thing all the time. I'm always playing the resource stat game, which takes the fun out of the game sometimes.

One thing that I do as far as vendors go, is that I pre-package complete outfits. Since I've realized there are quite a few people in my galaxy that have no idea how to dress themselves. I just throw it all in a backpack, give it a snazzy name and write the color and item name in the description. Those sell rather well.

I've found so much enjoyment in Tailor that I am thinking of dropping Weaponsmith.

Plz .. let me know if any of u get this question also ... "hi, can u make me a Fencer Skill tape?" hehe I must get that /tell atleast once a night! A good Tailor friend of mine said weshould make some Trim called "A Clothing Attachment" lol. Although mean.. I am betting my bundle that people would buy these.. even tho it would show no mods.

And a lil more on the subject : *giggle*

I have a vendor and full custom orders both. And profit seems to go both ways. Some days my vendor is rocking and I have 0 orders.. other days I am swamped with orders and my vendor sales are down. I just go with the flow.. *grin* no worries

lol

No offense but I'd be first in line to stone you to death for your lack of ethics if you did that. You'd be on par with all those bottom-feeder players who post 1/1 condition weapons, armor for full price sale.. lol
