Hi all. I just made Novice Tailor and am excited about working my way up to Master. I have a question for the seasoned Tailors on this board.
I see the resources needed for the items under Tailor on the FAQ, but I'm curious about the mix of harvestors (resource type and harvestor size) you generally maintain. Or, if you get your resources from other people (guildmates, etc). I know this probably varies by what you make the most of, but just trying to get a good feel, generally.
Thanks!!!

I actually dont harvest my own resources.
I just buy huge quantities of stuff i need in as cheap as possible, as quality doesnt matter for us so its quite easy to find bargains

I maintain more harvesters than I actually need, because I only like to mine one resource at a time. One resource, one type of harvester, one waypoint. Then the next week, I harvest something else.

That's a very good idea-- harvesting one resource at a time. My head starts hurting having to maintain multiple resources. Thanks!

I have always run my own harvesters because searching for resources at shops is stressful. Right now I have a ton of harvesters that I can pull out at any time because I am also doing armorsmithing and weaponsmithing and I need tons of expensive resources. When I was *only* tailoring, I got by very well with 2 medium chemical harvesters, 2 medium mineral harvesters and a fusion generator. These are expensive, but you can get all the resources you need any time you want!

Hrm i find just using bazaar is easy enough for tailor resources.
Often around 2cpu and can get about 50k + stack of a resource like steel / fibreplast / polymer / crystaline gemstone easy enough. And thats all i ever need to buy again and again. And its allways there. As for hides i just contact friends who hunt, and get some dathomir hides easy enough, stack of 20-100k lasts me ages.
Only problems ive ever had was finding plexite amorphous and green diamond crystaline gemstones for the noble crest. But now i have those they should last forever i guess.

Well all you really need, in my opinion,to start out would be a medium mineral harvester, a medium chemical harvester, and a fusion ion generator. You can add more as you make more credits, but to start these should suffice. You get the most bang for your buck with the medium harvesters and fusion poweris the best type to use. I make a lot of credits selling full runs of trim and synth cloth to chefs, architects, and armorsmiths. Keep in mind a full run of trim takes 20k fiberplast and I think synth cloth takes 16k. If you plan to do this on a regular basis, you'll need larger stacks of materials. You save more money in the long run from mining your resources, and it's really not too hard to do. The time it takes me to find a good concentration is usually less than the time it takes me to shop.

I have in storage a very large fleet of harvesters left over from my architech days (and ore piles up to my Lekku still
), but every couple of weeks, I drop a couple heavies (I use heavies for the mere fact that I sold all my mediums to the last few customers I had for architech and these are BER 12 rejects that won't sell) on fiberplast and polymer, split half to my storage and half to the factories to pump out syth cloth and RFP for a few armorsmiths that I deal with. Excess stuff I will dump on the bazaar for 1-2 cpu sometimes, or trade with a resource dealer.
If I see a rare spawn of something (like very good fiberplast, green diamond gem, or phokite gem) I will drop my entire fleet on them and mine all I can lay my hands on to last me through the next dry spell.
