Hello all,

I've been a combat only guy since I bought the game back in august. Long story short, I'm thinking of becoming an artisan type profession to change it up a bit considering i'm getting very sick of pvp and all the bugs with it. Any tips for me? advice of any kind is greatly appreciated and also what resources do tailors mainly use? Thanks

Just get ready for a completly different style of life. There is a faq at the top go ahead and read that. SWGTailor.com has a new guide to what sells at all levels as well.

I became a master tailor on the 30th of March. I really thought it was cool untill i hit master and made everything on the list to craft. Now I can't sell anything because the devs took awaythe 4 socket clothing I was making when I started grinding. As master I now make less 4 socket items then I did when I was novice!!! Oh well, it is fun for a while but if you don't have clients and are not selling stuff it sucks (at least in my oppinion). I have not yet put stuff on the bazaar and plan to do so this week. It just takes a lot of advertising to become well known and that takes time and money.

So in answer to your question. Yes, tailor is fun (most of the time) and once you get a client base going it really seems to pick up. I was commisioned to make 20 imperial uniforms the other day and WOW that was a blast doing that and getting paid hehe.

You are lucky! Uniform orders are one if the cases where you can get away with doing factory runs of everything so its possible to get 4 sockets without a huge amount of trouble.

It's great to hear that a combat guy has decided to go artisan Crafting is really fun. Tailoring is crafting, but it is a little different than other crafting professions, as the quality of the resources don't really matter. If you are looking for the "resource quality" competition thing, then tailoring is not where you might want to go, however, having the ability to wear whatever you want whenever you want and pick the exact colors you want is definitely terrific, as tailors get 255 colors to choose from (i.e. we have 21, Ibelieve, shades of a purple).

Be aware though... since the last patch (the wookiee armor patch), tailors have been having trouble getting 4 sockets. We aren't too sure if this is intentional (the 4 sockets thing), NJ said it is probably intentional. Perhaps the quality of the resources do matter now, that I am not sure. Whatever your decision, g'luck and have fun

By the way, I LOOOOOOOOOVE tailoring!

If you are changing profs because you are sick of bugs.. this isn't the place to be right now.
