Thread: BE Clothing and Skill Tapes

I have 2 questions. First, is there any place where I can find a listing of which specific clothing can be enhanced and how many enhancements can be used in it. Second, if I have a BE enhanced piece of clothing (or a clothing with a skill attachment) and I place a skill attachment with a different bonus (say the first is +10 melee defense and the second is +10 bleed resist), would I get the benefits of both? I know it's broken so that only 1 works on a single tape.

Well, my website has a catalog listing all the pieces, and what bonuses they will take.

No item will take more than one combat related type biomod as there are no schematics that take more than one slot of reinforced cloth. You don't want to add any tapes that hit on an exisiting mod in a piece, it'll be wasted - tapes still have a LOT of bugs.

Lastly - up to 6 mods can be placed on an item thru bio and/or skill tapes - many bio mods are doubles. Medic for instance has wound and injury healing bonuses - so that's two of the 6 right there.

Lastly - they just gutted sockets, so 4 sockets are going to be a lot harder to come by. After two weeks of waiting for an answer to what happened, they just decided this was an on purpose instead of an accident. I for one am a very unhappy tailor over this and won't be stocking my vendors for awhile - if ever again. This just sucked all the joy out of being a tailor for me. Most customers never use all those sockets - but most also perceive 4 sockets as a superior product and want them - whether they use them or not. The idea of remaking an item 10 or 20 times trying for 4 sockets just isn't my idea of a good time. The idea of what this will do to an already bloated database of items - well, does the right hand know what the left is doing? I for one am certainly NOT going to delete items with less than 4 sockets if I start stocking my vendors again.

Yeah, I read abotu the sockets thing, that sucks. I know not to put two skill tapes with the same mods in something, I just wanted to make sure I could still put 4 tapes with different mods.

Bonuses that enhance skills are only useful to those people that already HAVE some of that skill.

Another question in regards to that quote from your site... Does this mean if I have no Defense vs. Stun, that I won't feel any effect from clothing that enhances that? Or the same with melee defense?

Also, from what I read, the best thing to wear to maximize sockets is Boots, Gloves, Shirt, Pants, Hat, Bandolier, Belt, Vest, Ubese Bracers... What about Jackets? I'm assuming they'd replace vests, but would they replace other parts as well? If so, what parts?

And one last question, the maximum bonus to a skill is +25, but do things such as race bonuses count towards this?

If you find a tape that is +maskscent, you still have to have the scout skill Exploration-2 to be able to use the /maskscent command. Lots of skills out there that require a command to use them. Ones that give defensive mods are available to anyone, though you have to be using the right style. +block only works with one-handed weapons like knives or pistols. +fire defense works for anyone.
