I tried to sell a Spec-Ops Field Agent pack today that has 3 sockets in it. One guy said it wasnt worth more than 40k (which doensnt even cover the leather), because it isnt possible to put skilltapes into the pack. Can somebody confirm or deny this? I havent tried myself as I dont have good enough tapes to put in yet, and I dont want to waste a slot for trying. Thanks in advance!

Putting skill tapes into backpacks is bugged, because when you drag it over, it thinks that you want to put it into the backpack. Probably a really hard fix =/

I see...

But the fix cant be that hard? Or?

//Oh joy, cant use HTML codes for formatting or code even
if (backpack_number_of_sockets GREATERTHAN 0)
{pop_up ("Do you want to equip this attachement?");
if (button_yes=true){
equipAttachment();
else(addItemToContainer();
}
}

A long time ago since I programmed, forgive me

I would say this is a VERY serious bug, that I would like to see on the new top 5 list. It kind of takes much of the point away with the looted pack-schematics...

heh, i'm sure that their C code is complicated and it probably isn't something you can just go fix... every time they try to fix something, they break something else O.o

as for backpacks, i've heard workarounds but i've never actually tried it myself. i would ask around about prices and not just take 1 person's word on it

Yes. Its true that you can't put skilltapes into backpacks. We are not sure of whether we are supposed to in the first place since some backpacks don't come with sockets at all. What is not true is that it is only worth 40K. This is one of the most desirable loot schematic items in the game. Unfortunately, what this person was saying is backing up the idea that sockets are everything in clothing. Since I really don't have much left on my vendors, I wonder what I am going to do now. I mostly work by special orders and it is going to be hard to compete with the tailors who have vendors full of pre-nerf clothing.

Prefering to provide mainly to the looky-loos and keep my workload down, my vendors are not the most popular, though decently stocked. I had plenty of pre-nerf clothing on my vendors and it took a few days, but suddenly someone who cares about sockets found the vendors and spread the word. Vendors are empty and I'm not restocking until we get a better answer or a better choice. So even those of us with pre-nerf stock will only have an advantage until it runs out. I quite believe we each will run out of pre-nerf stock before we get fixed.

speaking of which, would someone mind trying the workaround i've heard about? put the backpack in inventory, fill it up with 50 items, then drag the skilltape onto the backpack. i heard that it worked at one point, not sure if they changed it O.o

Nope, dragging a tape onto a full backpack yields the message stating the container is full.

Can you even have more than 4 skill mods on a piece of clothing?
