What's up with the colors on the Ithorian Merchant's Robe?

they do not make any sense at all. if i set the bottom color to anything, then changing the top color does nothing to the robe. i had a customer that wanted a white robe with blue trim, and it was impossible to make this, because when the whole robe is white, the trim is always pink, no matter what.
