Thread: Sockets in the CURB

I spent a bit of time testing socketed clothing before and after Entertainer Inspiration buffs to see if it had any effect.

I learned Master Tailor on TC-EP3 and went to work crafting Ribbed Shirts with a Clothing Crafting Tool and Clothing Crafting Station which I obtained from a helpful blue frog in Bestine....

The first 100 shirts I crafted with no enhancementsand recevied the following results:

No Sockets:5

1 Socket: 16

2 Sockets: 30

3 Sockets: 29

4 Sockets: 20

The second 100 shirts I crafted having a full 3hr Inspiration buff from a Master Dancer/Master Entertainer

No Sockets: 3

1 Socket: 18

2 Sockets:29

3 Sockets: 34

4 Sockets: 16

I'm going to go through the process again when my Inspriation buff runs out, this time using 500-shirt lots and see how much these proportions change, if they change.

Statistically, they are the same. But if it was truely random, we should have seen equal ammounts of each number of sockets. It would seem that the equation used for determining sockets favour 2-3. IMO, a master tailor should see more 3-4 sockets

I went ahead andtested approximately 1000 ribbed shirts (lots of shirts) and got these results:

0 Socket: 43 (4.27%)
1 Socket: 165 (16.40%)
2Socket: 304 (30.22%)
3Socket: 311 (30.91%)
4Socket: 183 (18.19%)

Total:1006

This was with no inspiration buff. I would tend to believe there is a bell curve around 2.5 sockets.

I am going to take these and try repair skill next.

It does look like socketing is unaffected by the Inspiration buff, and our numbers in 100, 500, and 1000-piece lots all seem to be coinciding.

My round of 500uninspired shirts was:

No Sockets: 16 (3%)

1 Socket:71 (14%)

2 Sockets:155 (31%)

3 Sockets: 161 (32%)

4 Sockets: 97 (20%)

I'll do 500 inspired ones sometime today.

as I mentioned before, it looks awful similar to a normal distribution. it would be very reasonable if it is, but they might want to make the median a bit higher.

imo - Master Tailors who also have 4--- or master artisan should be getting 4 sockets a LOT more - at least 50% of the time. I personally get very very few requests for items with 4 sockets, but I do notice they sell faster.
muahaha, I often make my 4 socket items in out-of-the-norm colors... just to get the folks out of black

I haven't been able to get on TC5 yet.. no clue why, just won't come up for me.
