I have recently mastered Tailor and for the fun of it went crazy on creating components for clothing. 3k of each to be exact hehe
Being a tailor seems to be a long andtime consumingprocess if you want to add variety to your clothing. Seems i have to make every set individually if i want to have colour variety. The factory runs will only make one colour.
Why cant we have an option when making a craft schematic for factory runs, that offers random colours? I make 30 shirts through a factory and ended up with a various range of colours of that particular clothing per crate. This would give us a better way to keep vendors stocked instead of a vendor full of the same things witht he same colours.
Has this been brought up before??

I handcraft everypiece of clothing (i do custom orders/full makeover services and currently have about 3000 items on myvendors)... i quite like it like that
I only use factories for making the components or for when a customer orders 10 identical suits (for for example their vendors).I like choosing the colours and the variety we have. I wouldn't like it if a game mechanism would choose the colours for me (or did i miscomprehend when you said that you would like to end up with a various range of colours per crate?)

Obviolusly this would have been an option to click on if you want the system to chooserandom colours for you. If you did want to create your own colours etc, then you wouldnt click the box hehe

How many shades of brown do we really need in a run of Gunman's Dusters?

True, true. Still, I know what I'd get if I made a run of 1000 randomly-colored Gunman's Dusters: 50 pink ones, 949 in shades of brown, and one green-black one.

I would like to make a factory run of an item and then have the option to choose any number of the 1000 and set a color for those, then do the same for another color. it's a big pain to make 200 diff items in 10 diff colors for vendors, espescially when you have more than 1 shop.

There is a lot of potential for ugliness in random colors. I use maybe 30-40 out of our 255 colors on a regular basis.
