Greetings all,

I was looking over the skill mod's that tailors can put on clothing with Bio-Engy Cloth and I was really interested in the ones that add to Taming. However, as I am sure you know, these require milk to make.

Where does milk come from? Is it a loot item, a resource that has to be sampled, or one of the things you search a nest to find? Also milk have to be all of the same resource level or is it generic so milk from two different sources stack?

I have heard but not confirmed myself that milk is a loot item not a search lair item. Usually comes in very small quantities and I don't think they are always stackable.

It is a loot item (I recall a rumor that very rarely plasma theives will drop 2-5 units - but it's difficult to prove until you've seen it yourself [I haven't]), and you need 25 identical units to make an attempt at the tissue. The tissue attempt can of course critfail. Then you need to make a Reinforced Fibre Panel with the tissue. This can critfail. You then need to make a piece of clothing that does not require factory identical RFPs. This step can critfail.

As you can see, you may need to have several multiples of 25 just to get a single piece of clothing with this bonus on it.

I am not aware of anyone having tested this bonus to know if it is actually working.

MaskScent/Camo bonus is at least partially broken (the timers don't increase in keeping with the bonus, but the success ratio MIGHT), and of all the tissues, the Tame bonus seems to be the most similar, so would need careful testing.

Sorry to come across negatively, but I wouldn't count on getting a piece of clothing to test without a stack of 75 units of identical milk to start with. If they don't stack together when you drop one on the other then they aren't identical.

Thanks Oowik, I will keep my eyes open for milk drops.

Although it is a rather silly thing for an NPC to drop as loot....wonder if they drop cookies as well.....

Maybe it is only the ones wearing red suits with white beards.

I keep checking my flora survey tool once a week, because I heard a rumor that on one of the servers, milk briefly spawned one one planet as a flora resource. I don't know if it's true, but it only takes me a minute or so per week to check.
