Ok, do decay is in soon, but my tailor soul is twitching. When are we getting out experimentation back? I am ITCHING to be able to make superior quality clothing that supasses that of those who use loathesome grinding materials in their wares. Yes I am whining I WANT MY EXPERIMENTATION BACK!!! I want my extra efforts to MEAN SOMETHING! It was originally inteded that we would be able to experiment to make out clothing more durable in the face of decay- so whats up? Where is it? Will it ever be brought back? and will I have the patience? People are going to be annoyed over the new decay, thats a given. It would make them less angry (and make tailors happy) if quality, tough, decay resistant clothing could be made!

I am so envious of weaponsmiths and armorsmiths because of thisthat I have taken up novice armorsmith, just so that I can experience the satisfaction of seeing the fruit ofmy efforts! And ya know what? If I like armosmith enough I just might leave my career in tailoring behind.

Grrrr.

Clothing does not decay with use and wont after this patch soon to come, instead it will decay in a percentage when you die. I think it was 1% for insured and 5% if not. So there really is no reason to have durability. Either way, it's going to decay just the same as any other item. So even though you may take on armorsmith (or weaponsmith), each time the costomerdies, they will still degrade and doesn't matter even ifyou used 1000 Decay Resistance materials.

What I did was bought an equipment factory and some good conductivity copper (950+) used my skill points to in Engineering 1-4 and made a schematic for clothing repair kits. I'm waiting for the patch to put them on my vendor and I'll even throw some in free for special orders or face to face business.

Different clothing qualities would be nice, be would it really make much difference? With item decay on death clothing repair will become extremely common (entertainers/artisans I know won't die a lot). I am preparing many crates of high quality repair tools, and I envisage people stopping tailors all the time to boost up the clothing quality for a few credits. It will become common. If yours last just a couple of extra incaps is that worth all the effort of seeking out and mining those high-end resources? This is of course irrelevant at the moment as decay is an absolute percentage.

Now if there was even a time-based decay that would certainly be at a lower rate than caused by the average number of deaths in a time period. To balance good experimental durability (people very happy) and clothing falling apart in a week (people foaming at the mouth) I expect that even bad durability would result in acceptable decay. Add this onto the fact that clothing repair will become common.

I am glad I can just buy a few tens of k of a resource once in a while and not bother about that mining aggro I used to deal with. I am already busy enough with making gear plus I do a lot of other things, being a master creature handler and trickshot pistol, plus probably a bit too social for my own good

Hopefully, the clothing repair kits will work like the weapon repair kits. Meaning that Joe Non-tailor will run the risk of destroying any clothing they try repair. Hey, it's only fair!
