When dealing with customers the number one request is for items of matching colour but its my biggest headache unless they want black. Even white cause problems on the selection screen you swear is pure only to make the item and discover is off white.

Oh and trying to match tops andpants is impossible I swear cause the pants are in a lower position they light acts on them different. Whats even worst is working in shops the poor light even with torches makes the whole task very hard.

What we really need rather than trying to do it all by eye is to have a system for ID's for colours of course names would be great, like wookie brown but given the vast number of colours I would settle for numbers.

Oh can i end by ask to pls make necklaces show up when building them and not seeing what they look like. It must be such an easy bug to fix it just seems so lazy after 4 months not to fix it.

In cases like these, the 'examine' screen is my saviour.. *grins* It eliminates the lighting problem completely, although it doesn't always give as large an image as I'd like to work from. On really difficult cases, I ask the person to trade me a portion of the outfit that they want their purchase to match -- that helps a lot, too.

That is exactly why I numbered the colors on my website. Course - colors change with levels of tailoring - but what's on the website are all of them at master level.

No matter how they are arranged in your crafting tool - the numbers don't change, just count across the rows. I'd be out of my mind with joy if they just had a popup number over the colors in the crafting tool as your mouse hovers over a square.

If I use a color that isn't one of my 'main' named ones - I usually number it on the article as well. Knowing what they want the first time is only half the battle - trying to figure out what was used later when they come back wanting to 'match' can be a nightmare.

My main issue is to match items that don't have the same palette.

Does anyone have the equivalent of colors from one palette to another? All I've managed to figure out in all this time is that the white of the leather palette is light pink in the widest one, and that the grey is actually a kind of bluish grey, the third box or something.

And then you get the items that have shading probelms making it impossible to match them with other things

I have given some thought to this myself. My conclusions:

A real tailor can match things. (in RL)

Anybody could do it if it were just a matter of matching numbers.

The examine window is a help.

I've been able to match most of the shaded colours to a reasonable equivalent (and sometimes an exact one) with help of the examine window. My personal happy-joy-joy moment, though, was finding the precise shade to match the ochre-ish Rebel armour that a bunch of friends were running about in. Took a while, but oh... it looks good.. *grins*

sometimes they dont match up, like the 3rd yellow on the pants wont match with the 3rd yellow used on a top. You have to use your eye. I think it's shows great skill if you can, of course i think i am highly skilled at it lol.

It's an art, i enjoy it when i match it up perfect.
