Just wondering if they are going to fix this, or do I have to get a divorce when i need a new one?

1) Insure you ring and clone often

2) Buy repair kits from tailors, or have a tailor repair it for a better success chance.

Thats my point wedding rings should not decay, along with quest items, and SE glasses.
And how is a tailor going to repair my ring, you cant take them off???

Under the original dev plan for death/insurance, unity rings were one of the few items, along with your other newbie gear, that was permanently insured. That's what the little "i" meant that was over the icon in your inventory window. Thus you can't insure them when you use an insurance terminal. Only the devs apparently forgot that they never meant unity rings to need insurance when they implemented the changes to the death decay, and now our wedding rings are decaying off of our hands.

I hope they notice soon and fix this problem. It's a relatively minor issue, but to many roleplayers it's important. It's also an embarassing mistake to have let go live.

Yaweh, I have read that wedding rings decay. Since rings are not removable (without divorcing) you may want tp pick up a repair kit and see if it allows you to repair your own ring without having to take it off. I can't think of any other solution until the dev's make a move.

This Really bothers me also! I posted on the SWG discussion forums about it as well.

You do have a point, I didn't think about that. If rings can't be taken off for repair without having to divorce first is defeats the purpose of the wedding ring. I suppose one of two things can be a solution, either have rings be removable for repair purposes without having to divorce or not have them decay at all. The latter of the two would be easier. When you test decay on your ring, pleaselet us know of the results.

I tested it out last night and unity rings are definitely uninsurable, yet they do decay on death. So my wedding band is now at 95%, despite the fact that I chose to "insure all". I wonder what, if anything, happens when it gets down to 0?

Another case of "If it's not broken don't fix it" patch from the devs, making our rings uninsurable was a bad idea, and the specal edition goggles too!! They are decaying and soon my ring will be gone, already having to wear skimpy cheap clothing to avoid insurance charges, the ring loses 50 each death, and being a newb and one of my char beinga n00b unarmed broawleri do die often.

I really hope they fix these items or better yet take this stupid decay out all together

The Devs have replied that this will be fixed ASAP (whenever that may be). If anyone on Eclipse ends up with a badly damaged ring before they do get this fixed, send me anEMAIL and I will make another one (or two) for you, no charge, regardless of original crafter. All I ask is that you trade your old ones in so that I do not get taken advantage of. Please understand that this will have to be done between my regular customers.

I know it's not much but it is what I can do to try and help out during a small debacle. The reason I am not offering to "repair" them instead, is so I do not stress myself over whether or not I will fail. Just tell your partner it's a "rededication ceremony."

Take care!!

Well, I heard a nasty rumor than when your wedding ring decays fully, that you are allowed to turn in your spouse for a new model.....
