Thread: Sorry tailors, I won't be buying anymore clothes
now that Decay is in for stuff I don't even have on.
I'll just go naked instead when I don't have my armor on. I'll go naked before buying anymore clothes now.
That's rather silly considering all clothes are repairable. Buf you reallly want to go naked no one is going to stop you.
Well who cares anyhow, so he doesn't want some nice +15 to bleed resist or vs stun for his shirt under that armor or his bandolier.

meh
Me, i'd prefer to look good regardless of the costs, and so would many others.
a person who doesnt care how they look is not the kind of person i want to be making clothes for anyway...
Since clothing didn't decay before, you wouldn't have needed to buy new clothes anyway. So I fail to see your point.

LOL. That's exactly what sound I made when I read the original post.
I was kinda busy when I first logged in. Our guild was one of the lucky few that managed to get a City Hall placed. (Yay! Serenity Valley! We even got a mention on Tech TV-Screensavers!) Once that heart-pounding race to place was over, I wandered back to town and saw a lotta people running to the cloning center. Whoa. I'd forgotten about the item decay. When and where did I last clone? Yipes. Dantooine a week ago. Insured? Umm. First week of launch? Ha. /hustles self over to cloning center.
I cringed, I winced... as I clicked on the insurance terminal. /boggle Only 2350 to insure all. ALL? All. Wow. What got insured? My clothes. My pack. My tools. My CE goggles even got a little (i) but it didn't cost me anything for that. What were these 250@ null items? I dunno, but they were cheap to insure. It was as much as it was only because I had a lotta merchandise on me I had just made.
Weapon? Nope. Armor. Umm, don't use the stuff. I'm not a combat profession so I am not hit hard with repetitive insurance and cloning costs, but when I do go hunting, I'll just drop my tools and nice clothes off in my house or bank and do what we did in beta. Travel lean and mean when you go hunting. You don't have to go naked. Wear the BE clothes under your armor, add to your stats, get buffed...and adjust your play style to the new rules.
We all knew the Devs were eventually going to bring back some kind of cost of dying. Wave buh-bye to the Death Express. Say so long to rinse and repeat die/clone/duel. Death should sting. Death should be a last resort. Death should be the penalty for having bad strategy or biting off more than you can chew. Decay on cloning is here. Deal.
Oh yeah, it cost me 3800 credits to insure everything I had (which was a ton of stuff, an almost full inventory).
Being that I had 5 pieces of bioengineered clothing in my inventory worth 1 million credits, I didn't think that the 100 credit insurance fee for each peice of clothing was unreasonable. That amounts to a one time payment of 0.05% of the retail price of these items.
Feel free to lounge in your boxers. Tailors do need a source of humor.

Wow, thanks for the heads up!
