Thread: Calling all tailors! Protest for clothing decay!
Greetings fellow tailors.
I have started a petition for clothing decay on the SWG discussion forum:
Tailors on strike! Petition for Clothing Decay!!
I am personally on strike in response to the permanent removal of any plans to impliment clothing decay for tailors.
All of you in favor of clothing decay to save our profession and make it viable, I urge you to post in the topic above and make your voice heard!
I beleive they have effectively nerfed all tailors in one patch. This is a huge slap in the face because we were lead to beleive that we would be given clothing decay.
For some reason the HTML link wasn't working, here is the URL for the topic:

I sell my clothing for the 2-3 credits per resource used rule. That means I'm selling shirts for 100 credits. With the competition in Tailoring you have to sell your stuff at the 2-3 credits per resource used guideline. (Have you seen just how much clothing is on the Bazaars, let alone in people's vendors?)
I've been a Tailor sense I started the game, at the begining there was a large rush/demand for clothing. This is because everyone was starting out in the same dreaded newbie clothes. However at this point, the majority of the players have clothes that aren't the 'newbie clothes', and those who don't can easily find/buy an outfit from the bazaar for less then 1000 credits. (Which is less then a destroy mission for most.)
Over the past few weeks I have noticed a drastic decline in the amount of clothes I've been able to sell. People just arn't buying because they have no reason to buy new clothes. I've slowly been watching all the money I made, being the first to sell trench coats on my server, being eaten away as I have to lower prices and about beg people to buy my stuff. (I may as well go back to just giving the clothes away at this rate).
I read the Tailor forum to learn that yes they plan on including Clothing Decay. Yeah! Only to hear that now they are not going to include clothing decay. **edit**!!!
Tailors are not rich. They never will be rich. Being the first to produce a certain clothing item/type may have given some tailors some decent cash when the game started but at this point there is a flood of clothing.
Without clothing decay, there will become little to no demand for clothing. Besides, why did you make clothing repair kits in the first place. The people who tend to complain about clothing decay are those who don't want to lose their skill enhancements. I have several, and I have always seen them as a temperory boost to the character, and not a perminate one.
I also don't appreciate being lied to. (Being told that decay would be implemented and then having it not be.) I've worked to hard to get where I am, and now will find my hard work is for nothing, because no one will want to buy a new shirt even at 10 credits when they already have one that is prefectly fine.

I can't believe this!!!!! Why would they take this out!!! I don't know about you guys but clothes do wear out in reality and they should wear out in this game. If you wear a shirt into battle and get shot...IT'S GOING TO LEAVE A HOLE, which will need to be repaired. This is absurd. I've never complained about anything in this game before...but this really bothers me. I'm halfway to novice tailor....I should just shift to weapons or armor now.
Signed,
Disappointed
I'm bug reporting the fact that my armor and weapons decay and my clothing doesn't. Since my clothing doesn't decay (and apparently is never supposed to decay based on what was said in the patch notes), the decay on my armor and weapons must be a bug. My clothing gets worn, ie. used, as much if not more than my armor and weapons do, yet it's somehow immortal.
I'll be bug reporting this on each of my characters that I have on various servers, across 2 accounts, on a daily basis. How's *that* for 'overwhelming'?
Removing Clothing Decay is the nail in the coffin for the Tailor Line....Unless they come up with something else.
The only acceptable alternative to the removal of clothing decay is if clothing cannot be insured and is lost when players are cloned. I could live with that, but as it is now...they ..are..killing ..me.
I am certain there was overwhelming desire for non-decay. Im sure if you asked them if they wanted to remove weapon decay, all maintainence fees and hit point wounds they'd all say the same. Not having clothing decay ruins the tailoring profession.
if the concern is the loss of enhancers, fear not, just create a way for tailors to remove enhancers from clothes with used up sockets. that would add to the profession. This, as it stands, ruins it.
