Ok, i filled an order for a customer, and delivered it to his shop.

The order was for:

3 Wookiee Sage Hoods
3 Siglet Waiste Wraps
3 Wookiee Padded Gloves
1 crate of 25 Workmans belts with 4 sockets

i put all of these items in a backpack, and named it [customers name]'s Order

the wookiee clothing was not crated, because he wanted 3 different colored outfits

I offered it to his vendor, with a shirt description breaking down the price of each item.

the next day, i get an email from him saying the backpack was empty when he retrieved it from his vendor.

has anyone had this happen?

I actually packaged an order two days ago for a friend and it was retrieved without a problem. Strange indeed. But that was a good for sale. You are describing an offer to another's vendor.

I'm sure your friend was telling the truth, but if this is a real bug, it could allow for certain scams such as "your backpack was empty, I want my money back".

personally, i've never met this guy before, but he seems to be a fairly well-established weaponsmith on Lowca, so i doubt he's trying to scam me out of some credits. unfortunatly, i ddin't save the vendor sale emails, so i don't even know if a CSR ticket would even help.

I won't be online tonight i don't think, but next time i log in, i'll have Oreet, my non-crafter offer a pack with 2 or 3 junk items in it, and have Teero purchase the offered item and see if it is occurring that way too.

If they crossed server boundaries after collecting it that may have caused the items to vanish (I've had that problem a few times).

Hopefully a log out of 30mins or more will cause the items to reappear when they log back in.

Followup:

He contact CSR. They tried to recover the clothing and crate of belts, but could not.

but oddly enough, they could recover the last items that were in the backpack before the clothing.

the customer gave me the original contents back, but i don't know if he knew what he had there.

he returned to me a 1/3 factory run of Micronutrients. 330 items of the BE component used to make Light Food Additives for Artisan foods.

the orignal 1/3 run had already been converted to Light Food Additives, and are sitting in my factory, and i now have, FREE OF CHARGE, another 1/3 factory run of Micronutrents to turn into Light Food Additives. I think he's going to get a free crate of food or drink for that one.

Sounds like a one-time bug to me. I regularly use backpacks for sales with no problem whatsoever. Of course, I've watched vendors with 600 days of maintenance go poof overnight, too.

I've seen this sort of thing happen under two different circumstances:

1. Server rollback. Offer something to a vendor, server rollback occurs, prior to the time when the container was offered to the vendor. Strangely in this case, the container sometimes stays there, but the crafted items revert back to where they were before (in a factory, in inventory etc).

2. Severe Lag. Sometimes if you get hit by real bad lag, the retrieval of the item gets fouled up and items are lost.
