Hi,
I'm a new tailor and got +25 in assembly tapes.
What does it work for ?
Does it allow me to craft more 4 sockets clothes ?

Its debatable, some tailors are convinced they have a better chance of getting 4 socket items when wearing their +25 assembly suit, while others believe its just as random.
Personally, I will carry on wearing mine just in case

I feel that since i got mine i tend not to get 2 or 3 socket clothing, i either get 1 or 4 more often, whereas before i used to get a lot more 3 socket than any other. I have done no where near enough crafting for this to have any statistical significance however and it could easily be random still.

Before the CU the tests I did were pretty convincing that it made a difference in the number of sockets you got, although it didn't help that much with getting *4* sockets, just made less with 0, 1 or 2 sockets. It may be completely different now. Since the CU the game has been changing pretty drastically every few weeks so I haven't been that motivated to test something that might not be valid a week or two after I do the test.

how about we just follow the simple "it doesn't hurt to wear it" rule

It can't hurt to wear it, but there's no need to spend your hard-earned money on them either. Acquiring skill tapes, I think, is for those who have a whole lot of money and have run out of things to spend it on. It's certainly low priority.
