So what level of tailoring (1-4) is that brighter poppy red, not the magenta red but the brighter one? Or is this a master level color?

you got the best red as master...

Yes. The best colors are at Master, but you get decent reds, blues and greens by Tailoring 3, so don't lose all hope.

but we never get a decent yellow *sob*

I tend to use the lightest organge for a nice "honey" color instead of yellow. :c)

The lightest yellow #225, from counting left to right, top to bottom, isn't bad on some items. It actually loses its greenish tint. I have a few items in (yellow-225) and they do sell... It all depends, sadly, upon the item you are coloring in regards to the shade that you get with colors. Hence why making outfits can be such a pita. You might have to go with a novice/tier 1 item to get the better shade of yellow, not sure haven't really tested it out.
