I have started tailoring again...

I spent a month gathering skill tapes.....

now with bio clothing they appear all but worthless...

why would someone want a garmet that has say a +3 wound healing tape in it when they can get a bio cloth one thats +14

Are skill tapes now a thing of the past...?

Well skill tapes can be added to BE clothes, right? Also skill tapes are available for skills that don't have BE modifiers.

yeah annabelle +2 bleeding defense tape is really going to make a world of difference in a +25 constrictor cloth...most of the tapes are fractions or the poorest made bio cloth...

so now the only ones that are usefull are the crafting or weapon speeds...

the ones for bleeding or healing or camoflauge are about as desired as 100 sided chance cubes

plus with the horrible decay that was added no one really wants to spend any money on clothes unless they are 25% what ever...

why pay 1000s for a garemt taht is going to fall a part in a couple of weeks

i hope you decay people are happy cuz you helped bring our profession down...to bad we cant craftthe white boxers everone wears most of the time now

I have not observed people only buying +25 clothing or a daramitic increase in the "boxer wars".

Respectfully I disagree :

1. Not all players are willing to give up their armor, but they can add armor bonus attachments so there is a distinct benefit to armor attachments.

2. I sell practically every single tape and armor attachment for 10000 or more,,and sell constantly, Some have even gone as high as 500000. Yes 500000. The experimentation tapes or armor attachments for weapon smith might sell for even higher. The only tapes I sell for less that 10000 are the entertainer and clothing repair tapes,,all others are 10000 or more.

3. The wouldnt want a +3 wound vs a +14 wound tissue, but they might decide to add the +3 to a +14 to get to +17 on one item, And since the options and number of items you can even wear are limited , it might even make good sense to do that. And like someone else said, some tapes have bonus that are not available in another form, ie dizzy, knockdown, and disease defenses are examples,

4. If you are insured your items wont even reach 0 till you have died 100 times and thats a lot of death, So the decay issue in reality isnt really an issue at all.

They are not in any way a thing of the past,,in fact I believe they are a thing of the future, Its a nice loot item worth trying to get, that creates an interdependence with craft professions that the developers are searching to increase.

5. And last, since I sold a +9 heavy weapon speed tape,,for 4 millionit would be hard to get me to believe that tapes arent a valuable item now and in the future.

I for one haven't seen anyone running around in white boxers and if they are it's not because their clothes decayed... currently clothes that are 0/0 are still equipable.

Stick em on a vendor they still sell. Heck the +1 skill tapes sell off the bazaar at 3k within hours of being put on. They still fly off vendors at 5k.

But yes a +2 skill tape that can be reproduced with bio eng tissues are basically worthless. However bio eng tissues have such a small selection that I don't see what you're complaining about?

There's tapes for block/dodge/counterattack, tapes for weapon speed, tapes for evades, tapes for knockdown resistance, poison resistance, fire resistance, disease resisitance, tapes for weapon accuracy, tapes for pretty much everything in game. There's only what? 7? 8? different types of tissues?
