Thread: Heavy Duty Leather.... worth anything?

A friend gave me two "rolls" of heavy duty leather he had looted.

Are these worth anything?? Or should I just trash them?

(The serial numbers are identical, if that matters.)

Don't trash them! They are worth a bit, but just how much depends on your server.

Thanks, Gyopi, I appreciate that.
Fortunately I also decided to post exact same message on the Eclipse Trade forum. Already have a bid for 50K. There's no telling what else I've destroyed when cleaning up my inventory that was actually worth something!! It is true... One man's trash is another man's treasure!

I am not buying these for more than 50k a piece after today.

I paid one guy 200k a piecefor 5 matching pieces yesterday, and today I had 50 people wanting to all sell me their leather for 200k a piece. I am not that rich and the craftedstuff doesn't sell that well.

Sure some people will buy aprons and backpacks for 500k. but most people just wait to get the schematic and the leather and then ask me to do it for free or for a small cost.

Still though. do not destroy it. give it to a nice tailor. they will probably give you some good stuff in return even if it is not money.

I REFUSE to pay the way overinflated prices for the leather, the prices of the finished items are crazy as a result if I do. I'm also in the fortunate position of being able to go get em myself if need be but I normally get them dropped on me by friends.

Glad to see on Corbantis that the price of these are falling as the market becomes flooded with leather and schematics become fewer as more people finish the quests that give these Items.

Hell, I gave away 6 pieces I had that I knew i'd never use (along with a load of rancor hides) to a Master Tailor/Armoursmith I knew who isn't holoing and is keeping her char. I still have a bit in storage, but now I just make schematics for others for cheap. (compared to the finished selling price anyway)

I can run through the Nightsister stronghold and get all the leathers myself. So as a result, I will only buy sets of 8+ to do factory runs. There is just no point otherwise. The real issue is getting enough of the schematics. I'm down to about 10 of them, and still have lots of crates of the finished product to deal with

Wow, thanks for the always polite and insightful comments, Naufragus! Tailors don't tend to be the richest of people, so some of us will take whatever we can get. There's nothing wrong with wanting two pieces of leather to make an item instead of a schematic when you don't have the millions of credits it takes to buy 8 identical pieces.
