Nothing specifically for us, but still good notes, methinks.

Thanks for the info n'Jessi. I'm hoping that they address some of our tailoring issues. It would be cool if they do something for all professions in each publish just to be fair.

I wouldn't expect any tailor news in the rough outline anyway since there is no tailor revamp scheduled for at least publish 9 and 10 (unless they change what they have already announced). Some bug fixes would really be apprecieated, though. I hope they manage to work some of them in!

Well... the attention being given to entertainers may be one of our best bets at getting new clothes. I think it's been mentioned before that they'd love to add more dancing outfits!

Honestly I think they'll be rather busy with the force-sensitive revamp. That looks to be a huge undertaking. With the looted schematics from a couple patches ago, and the fact that tailoring is mostly functional, I would not expect any significant attention from the devs for many months to come. I know we deserve some loving, but, honestly, there are other professions that deserve it more.

Changing the progression to Jedi really is a prerequisit to doing anything for entertainers because the holo grinding has destroyed cantinas, maybe beyond repair, we'll see. From these notes though I think it's a safe bet that there will be new items for entertainers, but my guess is it will be along the lines of all the other new stuff they've added: finish a quest, get a schematic, kill a ton of ultra-powerful NPC's, get components, take it to your tailoring slave, have them make it for you.

Well, there are a few professions which are truly broken like squad leader and smuggler, but in a way us and the architects are amoung the most broken professions out there. Yes, all of our clothes basically work and most of our bugs are minor (but extremely annoying) issues like invisible necklackes and missing color palettes. As someone who has been a tailor almost since the beginning, it looks to me like tailoring has been dying a slow death for several months and I don't think we have that much time left. The number of people playing the game is not increasing anymore, and is shrinking if anything. It is getting close to the point where all the clothing that will ever be needed or wanted in the game has already been made. With no new schematics (except for some rare loot ones) and no decay, along with the fact that most old clothes are 4 sockets and most new ones aren't, tailoring doesn't have a very bright future right now. I wish that the devs would think about this and recognize the problem. Even though it would probably be immensely unpopular, just fixing decay would take enough pressure off that we could function until they have time for things like new schematics.

Gyopi,

I totally agree, they really need to think of the "big picture" when making changes and assigning development resources. Also, there's no doubt in my mind whatsoever that there are much fewer tailors then there used to be. Probably half as many.

I disagree with the characterization of smuggler being "truly broken" however. My best in-game friend just advanced to master smuggler and seemed to have a lot of fun with it before dropping it (he's on a semi-holo trip). Obviously there is a huge huge market for weapon and armor slicing, feign death is so powerful in combat it could probably be classified as an exploit, and although the new food has certainly cut into smuggler's drugs big-time there is still a nice market for them. I think if anything the biggest problem with smuggler seems to be that they failed to capture the "essence" of what a smuggler does from the movies. I certainly wouldn't call them broken however. They are no more broken then we are, or than bounty hunter is, or ranger, or many others. Could they use a big revamp? yep, hope they get it too.

They are certainly useful and in demand, so in a sense they are not broken! By broken, I mean that there is an entirebranch that uses up skillpoints, but doesn't actually do anything. Its not nearly as bad as the squad leader, which has a four branches and a master box which doesn't actually do anything useful.
