i have an order for:

1 brides outfit
1 grooms outfit
1 priests outfit
1 best-mans outfit

all races are human/zabrak (as in no wookiees or trandos etc)

so far ive come up with

bride: white formal gown, white dress slippers, white decorative headdress, and white leather gloves
maybe add a necklace (but i cant seem to SEE the necklaces in the craft window..which one is good?)

priest: white robe of honor, white dress shoes (selected white but they look greyish?, cant see it anyway under the robe)

best-man: he requested to look like neo...so i did black formal shirt, black gunmans duster, black uniform boots, black comfortable slacks, black leather gloves

groom: what i made looks horrible..im baffled as to how to fix this....white decorative vest, white dress slacks, black dress shoes.

please any suggestions are welcomed.

I usually dress the groom and best man in the same outfit, I just change the color of the shirt or the color of the tie on the dress shirt. It makes the wedding party look uniform.

I would suggest using something other than white on the 'priest' as the bride should be the only one wearing white. I do many player weddings and I would never wear white to a wedding out of respect for the bride. I also like the admin robe or the robe of honor to perform ceremonies.

I would use the same outfit for the groom that you have on the best man, just make the shirt a little different or use a dress shirt. No one will confuse who they are

I hope that helps. I have also made pale pink or pale blue for the brides for something different. The elegant gown makes a nice maid of honor dress.

Bride

Personally, I would never like to see a bride in a chicken hat. Ditch the hat. The formal gown is so little used and so bridey - the bride might object, however, becuase the formal gown tends to give a large behind look, while the intricate dress does not. If you had bridesmaids you could dress them up in formal gowns in a different color, or exquisite gowns.

The priest -

eh, a black & purple robe of honor will do the trick. He doesn't need to wear anything else.

Groom:

my 2 favorite groom outfits are the decorative vest or the dress uniform jacket.

  1. In the dress uniform jacket, he'll look like prince charming regardless of colors. If you're going to do white completely, stick to dress slacks and uniform boots (the comfortable slack belt looks weird with the dress uniform jacket in white) - obviously dress shoes do not work with this look.

  2. What I usually do with the decorative vest is to make the base color black and the "tails" color white so it looks almost like a real tux. Then do black comf slacks, black dress shoes. If you want to go to all white (don't recommend this becuase of texturing), swap to dress slacks and uniform boots. And I hope you have a sidebutton shirt under that (black for the black/white combo, white for the all-white look).

Best man:

When you're at a friend's wedding, it's simply uncouth to indulge your own fashion whims. Neo? Ugh. He should be wearing whatever the groom is, but in a different color. Groom is wearing a black decorative vest iwth white tails? Best man is wearing the same thing, but with blue tails. Groom is wearing a white dress uniform jacket? Best man is wearinga blue one. As punishment for trying to be neo at the wedding, I would make him something in baby purple, but that's just me being mean.

The Formal gown looks very pretty with pretty as a wedding gown! It gets used quite a bit for this and the head dress CAN work depending on the bride... this pic is not very good, but the bride looked beautiful even with thehead dress, it worked in this case! http://www.royalweddings.net/wedding.jpg

I usually talk to the bride and ask what type of looks she wants:
Romantic: Intricate Lace (Padme's wedding dress)
Sophisticated: Luxurious
Formal: Grand Ballgown
Elegant: Exquisite

I will drop one of each dress for the bride to examine and try on, and also ask if she would prefer to have the dress made in a cream color (Sometimes, white doesn't look good with the skin tone chosen by the player). I'll finish the look out with white or cream colored dress slippers and either an emerald pendant or stately necklace in a complimentry color.

For the priest's outfit I'll ask the bride what 'colors' she wants her wedding. I will make up a robe of honor in the general color scheme. A light blue and white robe of honor looks very nice. I've also used the Admministrator, Councilman and double robe. If the person performing the ceremony is a female I may even make up a grand healers robe.

The groom and best man usually get the typical 'tux' outfit of a suit shirt, with the best man's being in the bride's colors (blue, he gets dark blue tie, red - red tie etc) the groom is almost always in white with a black tie (though I had one ask for a white shirt, 'gold' tie) I will make up either the comfy slacks or striped slacks, dress shoes and I've found a rugged jacket looks nice. Grooms tend to like that for a more formal/traditional look. The more militaristic will sometimes ask for the Dress Uniform, which can look nice if done right.

Bridesmaids (if there are any) I let the bride choose the dress. Many times the bride will pick for herself the intricate or luxurious gown and put the bridesmaid in a pastel exquisite or elegant gown.

The key here is to meet with the bride and find out what she wants. This is her wedding and her special day. Don't scrimp on the materials and personalize it a bit. (yes, I often rename the gown 'Wedding gown' for the bride, it gives her something to display in her house later and something to remind her of her special day.)

Hope this helps. Have fun with it, this may be the first of many weddings for you.

hehe.. that is usually what I do as well, I just didn't think to explain the whole thing in my posts. Some brides have their own prefrences and tastes where as the groom usually does what the bride wants

for a lower-cost alternative to the priest outfit, double robe also works. once i attended a wedding without my components crates, and the officiant didn't show up... i stuffed my (mon cal) boyfriend in a large headwrap and double robe, it worked

when it comes to boys and formal events, comfortable pants always does the trick if you need an open front jacket (if he's wearing a suit shirt) a cold weather jacket or pilot's jacket (a bit shorter) in a solid color usually works well.

if the player behind the bride is indeed female, you might want to talk with her regarding color/selection. during the same wedding mentioned (where i was the matron of honor), she suddenly decided that she wants to switch outfits O.o
