Thread: Experience Levels for Tailor too low???

Am I the only one who feels the exp level for tailor is too low? I have searched the board and haven't found a discussion about it. I have done several of the crafting professions, including doctor, which is considered a hard grind, but Tailor is the worst in my opinion. I just get sick of it. I am now considering dropping it because it takes so long to get a skill box and I'm getting carpel tunnel syndrome from all the clicking. I am not a grinder. I play and I craft. But I have been working on tailor for 3 months and haven't even gotten the first row. It sucks and I'm discouraged.

Thanks for you feedback.

It took me about 6 months to master, without grinding anything ( however, 4 of those were solely stocking the bazaar). But, if you think tailor sucks, don't go near weaponsmith. I'm sure 100k rifle barrels would drive you straight out the gate

I thik SOE backed themselves into a corner and they have no clue how to get out. You can give a monkey 100k and a macro and they'll be a master tailor in a couple of days. After which they generally say "tailor... what a joke comepared to...". But for those poor souls actually trying to progress though the profession, learning as they go, and *gasp* making clothing, it's a long hard haul. Took me 2 months and that included several hours of grind time per week, but I've never really complained that it was too long or too short.

So what the heck is the solution? I think the crafting quests were a really really poorly thought out attempt to address this issue, in the guise of being something completely different then they were (lol, oh man, it's hard not to laugh at how stupid those are) but they failed miserably there. I dunno, maybe the solution really is to just remove the whole class progression thing. Announce your intention to master a class, give up the skill points, wait a week, and then you're granted the master tag. Dunno, seems wrong, and I've always had fun looking forward to each new skill box and the excitement of getting it, but as it is now it's a system that rewards the macro-bots and punishes the players.

doc is easy as well, for WS i didn't do it the barrel way, but I do know MOST WS do it that way, wich should be the biggest pain in the a$$

regarding the number of items for each level, i'd be tempted to say that tailor looks ok too, gonna do it soon, not for jedi tho, cause I have SP and I want to try.

well... weaponsmith is easy. only an idiot would do the barrel crafting method. if you do the warheads it only takes like 1000 crafted items to master.

tailor is a bit rough. ribbed shirts seem to be the tried and true method of grinding. ...and it takes a lot of ribbed shirts to make master.

i'm more of a grind, and fiddle crafter. i pound out shirts for an hour. then i do backpacks, bangles, and other odd's and ends i know i can sell... to break up the monotony.

but i do think there needs to be a slight bump to exp.
