1. not yet tailor but was wondering what i need to stock up on resources wise... ?

I already have the resources for the actual grind for master but would like to know what to prepare for when i start making stuff

2. so any info you could give me on how many factories to put up and whats the best to make in the factories?

3. would it be better to get my own resources or buy them from someone else and does resources qualityreally matterwith clothing?

any other tips or stuff would be helpful

At the risk of soudning harsh, the first thing you should do is read the FAQ in the thread at the top of this forum. It answers two of your three answers and likely many moreas well.Almost two since question number three is actually two questions.

Anyway,

1. A bit much to list here, see FAQ.

2. This depends on how many customers you'll have and the amount of workload you're willing to accept. Personally I use only one factory and make fairly large quantities of the components each time, but I know I'm a tailor with a rather small market which suits me just fine. In the beginning it is probably best with only one factory and you can place more if you see that your're always running out of components.

3. No easy answer to this. I get my own resources, including hides since I have a second account with a scout/fighter but I know many tailors that buy everything at low costs (say 2cpu) which will still give you a good profit. Pros for getting it yourself are of course that's it is slightly cheaper once you have the harvesters and that you don't have to visit countless resource vendors. Cons is that that it takes time to find good spots to harvest and that the machines can be expensive to purchase. Also, if you don't have any fighting skills it can be a bit dangerous to place and maintain the machines. You also need the survey skills of course. Quality of the resources don't matter for clothes, only for wookiee armor segments, so you can safely use the worst resources out there.

Hope this helps, and welcome (soon) to the world of tailoring.

I run three factories myself. One allways on components, one allways on completed products for large orders (Like the PA that ordered 150 imperial uniforms, or the allways a good seller on the bazarr "Black Gunman's Duster [4Socket][DragooN]" My third factory i make what's needed -- recently it's been mainly components, but that's because I just got in a shipment ofaboutfour thousand tissues that need to be made into SC and RFPs

I've heard about some tailors that use three, but as it stands, i've got one equipment factory, three wearables, two structure factories in order to stay above water (and i've got admin to another EQ factory if i've got overflow and it isn't being used) -- and i'm seriously adding more. I've got twenty lots (two accounts) and currently 6 are being used for factories, 7 for my house/mall, and two for FWPs to get power to run said factories, leaving me with FOUR lots for harvesting, and invariably three of those are put on LGO, while the fourth alternates shifts between fiberplast, Polymer and Lubricating Oil.

Needless to say I buy alot of resources from other resource vendors -- with my sales volume (2.4m in total sales, counting consignment and spare power last month) I'd need to get another two accounts to keep up on the resource front.

Just a little insight, I know alot of tailors don't have the luxury of a second account in order to have a dedicated crafter, and still others don't do the volume that it seems I do. However if you're buying resources for tailoring, remember unless you're making wookiee pillows you can buy "Grind" materials (On Chilastra they run about 1.5 to 2 CPU) and you'll make just as good clothes as someone using the stack of 978 OQ 1000 MAL fiberplast that i just sold to an armorsmith for 250cpu

Sorry for being so long winded, hope it helps
