I have decided to start selling componants.
Right now I only have 2 factories.
I already let people know I will not take custom orders for them but
that they will be able to buy them from my vendor.
Questions for you tailors...
How many factory runs do you do a week to keep up with demand?
Should I invest in a third factory?
Should I specialize in just making syn cloth or should I stock trim, rfp and pillows?
SinceI like to buy things, I figured it was time to start maybe increasing my income.
I just don't want it to become more of a hassel than it's worth.

I was thinking of selling each crate of syn for 3500 to 4000 credits, is that too high?

Honestly if you want to best do this and maximize your factory efficancy, it is a really good idea to network a little and contract with some armorsmiths and chefs. I know that for me the biggest demand at the moment is for trim from chefs, I have one that I keep stocked up (generally 2 full factory runs per week). If it is a vendor situation, another factory would probably be a good idea, that way you can always be running components for sale in at least one and always have one available for your personal needs. The third is a safety net.

I sell crates of cloth and pretty much all of my components for 5k a crate with no complaints. I actually have an order right now for 400 crates of trim for 2mil. So I have 2 factories going at the same time right now trying to pump it out. I bought a third house and i'm using it to store factory crates of components.

Trim definitly and after that synthetic cloth.
I have 4 wearables factories up at all times and make components about once a week. And I donn't even keep the components on my regular vendor. That is just for regular customers. I do use a lot of synthetic cloth my self. Just last week I used full factory run. Not to mention other components.

Isell all components (other than armor padding) for 250cpu (item not resource). Armor padding I sell for 500cpu (item not resource). I tried putting components on a vendor in single crates and packs of 250/500/1k. I did like no business whatsoever, so now i just do special orders. I just ran 3kSC/3.5kRFP/500FP order for an AS for 1.75m the other day. I get no complaints on my pricing because my customers know I own a fleet of factories and will get them done asap. No second runs needed on most orders. I keep 4 factories up at all times along with my two small houses, and have 2 on hand in case of emergencies, as well as my alt has an additional 5 on hand in case things get really out of hand like they did this week. LOL i was trying to get my new outfits made when the order came in from the AS as well as had given admin to another AS to 2 of the factories so she could make the components for the armor pieces for one of my outfits. It got a bit crazy and I wound up utilizing all 11 factories for about 3 days.

Chiana,
Being that we are both on the same server and service the same planet, I can tell you this. I stock RFP's, Syn cloth, Trim and pillows. I sell out of RFP's and Syn cloth all the time. I haven't sold a single crate of trim and the pillows I only stock 5 crates at a time and those sell 1 per every month.
Also, to keep things fair and so we won't undercut each other, I'll disclose my componets pricing to you. 3k for Syn cloth crates, 5k for all others.
Happy factorying (if that's even a word!

Thanks Kurtzgirl.
This is sort of an experiment for me as I have never sold componants before.
If it becomes too much of a hassel, I will just stop selling them.
I am going to sell mine for a little more, just because it takes me 2 days for a full
run of syn cloth, so I will sell high.
