I rented one of those terminals that plays music... lots of song options! Too bad they cost 25000 credits. I'd love to have shopping music all the time in my merchant tent.

Hello
I've been gone for a few months and I've just recently returned. I'm guessing the music terminals were implemented in game while I was gone.
I was curious, but where did you get it from? Is it player made and I just need to shop around for it?
Thanks!

It is a player event perk but it costs 25000 for 8 hours of use.
If I make enough credits during the week, I'll add the jukebox once a week or so because it's nice.
You can find them in hotels from the events NPC.

Kind of expensive to keep one in your shop all the time, it only last 8 hours for 25,000 credits.

I absolutely love these...
One point though, is that they disapear if you log off, so its not really 8 hours for me as im never online with one character that long, which is a bit anoying, i think il just place one when i do restocking, which is the longest i stay online at once with Mauve.
Id love if there was a permanent option for these, id pay anything to own a permanent fixture in my shop like this
Maybe the next vet reward

It would be SO NICE to have these as a permanent item! If its Star Wars-ness they want to add to the game, this is a great way to add it. Having a soundtrack in yourhouse is just plain awesome!

I feel bad for Musicians though, as this could potentially make them obsolete except for buffs.

it could be the timer in that case. I logged off after playing with it and chatting to friends for about 2 hrs, logged off and came back later, so 3 hrs would seem about right

another note, i had a couple of them in my inventory earlier, none now exist
so they last 8hr from point of purchase, as well as lasting only around 3 hours from placement

I am not so sure about that disappearing at log off thing though. I bought 3 jukeboxes yesterday.
First one right after the servers came back up. I didn't log back in game until after it's 8 hours should have been up, so I don't know if it poofed when I logged out earlier, or at 8 hours. I bought another one at 6 p.m. Central, placed it, then logged out for supper and RL family time. I logged back in at 11 p.m. Central. The jukebox was gone. Grrr. Five hours? How long had it been gone? Immediately? Longer? No way to know. I bought another one at Midnight. Messed around for a couple hours, then switched to my alt char. Ran to the mall expressly to see if the 2 hour old jukebox was still there. It was. I hung out in the mall with a guild mate that was busy stocking vendors for about another hour. The Jukebox was still there.
/shrug So I dunno?
But otherwise -- I LOVE the Jukebox! Having background music in the mall is marvelous! Having a customer walk in and freak out over where the music is coming from is hilarious! Heh, one guy told me he nearly wet his pants and had a heart attack. (The tune playing was Exar! LOL!)
And I am happy they might be a permanent crafter/entertainer item soon. I do wish the customers could change the music tracks too. Even if it cost them a few credits to do it... *evilgrin*
I also agree, the Musicians need to not be shut out because of these things. (Although I doubt I could hire a musician to just hang out in my mall all day to provide ambience music? Even if I did, most people wouldn't /listen to the musician. They aren't there to get healed/buffed, they are shopping. They'd mostly tend to ignore that musician, wouldn't they? The jukebox can be heard the moment they walk in. Not so with the musician. Hmm. Jukeboxes in cantinas now, that could present problems in a big way.
