Thread: Question re: BE stuff
Ok, this may have been asked before, but with the ungodly slow response of this forum software, it'll take me more time to look and use search than it would to read half of war & peace, so I'm going to risk being told "it's already been answered" and ask anyway...
I made an item with a +15 bleed resist cloth.
when I put it on, it changed my combat bleed resist mod from non-existant to 0/+15
now my question is this...
when the mod is written out like that, what exactly do the stats mean?
i know that based on my +4 melee defense, it says 6/10 -- my current is 6, that's fine, makes perfect sense as before/after with the clothing, but my question is in regards to something that was non-existant in the first place... I.E. combat bleed resist, mask scent for non scouts, etc...
does it mean you just suddenly have a +15 skill mod to a skill you don't posess... will that work?
if someone who has no scout wears a +16 mask scent item, their mod will read 0/+16 -- i would imagine that doesn't magically grant them the ability to mask scent suddenly... so i would assume that a 0/+15 combat bleed resist would behave the same way -- read: not work at all.
if i'm off on this, great, i'll make myself some +bleed resist items and be happy about it, but if not, then is bleed resist actually a useful skill mod to add? what trainable skill gives + to combat bleed resist in order for this to work?
hopefully this is understandable and someone can actually give me an answer...
thanks
If you were to put on the +16 Mask Scent item your Mask Scent skill modifiers would be +16, however unless you have the ability granted from the approprate skill box you would have no way of activating the skill (in other words its not the skill modifier that grants you access to the ability).
Since bleed would be activated by getting hit with a bleed then you don't have to worry about having a particular skill box to have the approprate activation ability.
ok... that's exactly what i needed to know...
i'd never seen combat bleed resist as a skill mod, and wanted to make sure it was worth using the cloths =)
thanks
