Can you check into clothing repair?


It seems like right now, it is almost impossible to 'repair' clothing. Seems like a useless skill to me at this point if you can't really 'repair' an item. Most of my repairs have failed pretty badly. Is this how repair is intended?

This is bothering me too. That and the fact that nothing happens when clothing reachs 0/0 durability... It kind of makes the whole clothing decay thing worthless.

Do you think its possible for the Dev's to change the tailors apron from +5 experiment (which is useless) to +5 repair? I like my crafting apron and it DOES help with crit fails so the +5 to assembly is great but I think it would be nice to add some bonus to repairing clothing. Someone asked me the other day to repair his clothes but I refused because the last 3 times I tried to 'repair' items they fell apart. Clothing repair seems quite messed up.

Chiana it seems as though we already have a bonus to repair, I think it's just not called that. If you take a look at the results of Gyopi's Clothing Repair Results Part I thread, you can see that his Master Tailor character had a much better repair rate than his non-artisan character. It also seems that the quality of the tool plays a big role, even when you're a Master Tailor.

I think that the question was more about the clothing experimentation bonus since it doesn't acuatually do anything. Also, I plan to do part II soon, but right now I have to make a shirt and skirt that will look cute with my new tailor apron. I have to keep my priorities in order, you know. Now if I could only do that in real life without a long time at a sewing machine....

Apparently I needed more coffee... I totally missed that part about the apron.


However, tailors don't (currently) have a skill called repair, yet we obviously have some kind of repair bonus (per your experiment). The question then is, which one of our skills gives the repair bonus? And if it's experimentation, than nothing with the apron really needs to change, right?


Anyway,I'm just thinking out loud... when TH gets back, I'll bug him and see what I can find out.

I have clothing repair SEAs stored up (as well as experimentation andassembly ones). I believe the stat is buried there somewhere (as Gyopi's experiment confirms), whether it became implicit or was removed or repair is purely based on being a master, I don't know.


I am still hanging onto all my tailor SEAs in the hope that they will one day become usable.

Hehe, asking for "clothing repair" bonus I think opened up a can of worms, since that whole subsystem seems to be broken anyhow.


How about simplifying the request:


"Can we please have some bonus other than clothing experimentation on the tailors apron? Something that is actually useful?"

I don't seem to have any special bonus to repairing clothes, never been able to successfully repair any clothing so far. Maybe because I am Bothan?
