I just got Casual Wear III last night (finally!) Have only barely had the chance to experiment with my new styles, but I was wondering:

If you were designing a full outfit for someone, that included a Cloak, what do you think would look best *under* it? I'm trying to figure out what to put up for my new "showroom model"....

I'd like to know the answer to this as well. Just bought a cloak and all I have to wear under it is a simple shirt, and pants

Try something lighter under it. Like a cream colored shirt (reinforced work shirt seems to be the most popular). Pants to match the cloak, at least more or less.

My favorite Casual III outfit is the Light Bustier with either a Modest Skirt or Striped Slacks and the Striped Pendant. I've been using the reddish color that you get at Tailoring I (before getting that skill I used a light grey) and a black cloak. I didn't really want the cloak to be black, but it was too useful to be able to always have the extra black cloak on me, since items aren't decaying yet I just sell the one I'm wearing if someone stops me for one on the street.

For a male outfit, I like the Cloak with Striped Slacks and a Dress Shirt. It's a kind of nice, more formal look for the guys.

For men, slacks and a fancy shirt. I normally recommend the Striped Pants or Thin Striped Pants (in a slightly darker shade of the same color as the cloak, with bright contrasting trim) with a Longsleeve Shirt (in white or a bright color like yellow or olive green) and Standard Boots.

I haven't had a lot of women buying this item from me. Most of the ones who have have been medics who wanted a white one over mint-green pants and a mint-green shortsleeve shirt, with white casual shoes. But yeah, combining this with khaki on khaki or black on black Striped Slacks with a matching Light Bustier would be a striking look, wouldn't it? Again, I'd recommend the Standard Boots, because I don't think that the Casual Shoes or Women's Shoes are butch enough for that look. Maybe Sandals would work, too.

I'm having trouble imagining a Cloak over any kind of long skirt; I keep thinking there would be clipping issues the way there are when you wear Cold Weather Gloves over any jacket with full sleeves. No?

I am wondering the same thing as bradbradley. Are there clipping issues with a skirt under a cloak? I would check now but my tailor isn't on yet

Surprisingly, I haven't really noticed the skirt and cloak clipping. The cloaks clip terribly with backpacks and belts, butthey look decent with the skirt to me.

I wear black casual shoes with that outfit, I tried a few different styles of boots, but they just looked too "heavy" if that makes any sense. Plus, I just love how the bottoms of the striped slacks (and some of the other pants) look, I always love wearing those with shoes instead of boots. I just love showing off the full cut of those pants.

If you are feeling particularly over-confident and fancy a bit of posing as a male... Wearing the cloak without any shirt underneath looks fabulous!

(Note: For females it doesn't look fabulous... just very silly =p)

Add a shoulder strap of contrasting and brightercolor to "dress up" a cloak, shirt, and pants combo =)

Something that does clip - a skirt under a dress robe. Pleated happened to be the one I tried, wasn't expecting it to be wearable at all. Despite the graphic being in almost exactly the same place, you can wear them together....
