Thread: I'm a Wookie, what should I wear?

I'm playing a Wookie that's involved in combat, I was just wondering what type of clothing/armor I should be wearing.

On vendors I've seen Wookie Smock, and Wookie Battle Padding. What should I be wearing for the best protection?

Also, what are sockets, and how do I use them?

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately wookies cant wear armor. I 'think' one of the top end wookie cloths does provide a little protection, perhaps the Creasted Battle Padding, but most of the wookie clothing is just for looks.

Unless bio-engineered cloths are fixed, there's no protection in clothing. :-(

As for what a wookiee should wear, that somewhat depends on what you'd like to look like! Are you the martial wookiee who needs battle padding and gloves to keep the goop off your fur? Are you the truly feral wookiee who only needs a dead animal pelt thrown over him to be comfortable? Are you the more civilized and refined wookiee walking the paths of culture and mysticism that needs a sage's hood and desperately wants the sigiled waist wrap fixed? Only you can answer your own question, honestly. :-)

I'm a Swordsman so I definitely take a pounding in most encounters.

Personally, I think "less is more" is the best advice for Wookiees. Keep the clothing somewhat minimal but well-chosen, and your fur looks great - don't be afraid to show it off! (The Wookiee Smock is one item I can't really understand at all, for that reason....)

I wouldn't recommend the Wookiee Smock, either. In my opinion, Wookiees have some of the best clothing in the game -- if not the most of it -- and it's a shame to just opt for something long and shapeless instead. *grins* I'm personally really fond of the Crested Battle Padding (there are those great metallic textures, and it just looks intimidating: perfect for the battle types); the Decorative Waist Wrap (in lieu of the colour-bugged Sigiled) has a nice bit of contrast between cloth and metal, and the Patterned Gloves are undoubtedly the most stylish accessories in the entire game. They have little embroidered dragons on them! (Well, okay, maybe not dragons, but still...)

Really, you have a great, if not plentiful, selection to choose from.. *grins*

If BE ever gets fixed, tailors should be able to put bleeding defense, intimidation and warcry bonuses, and like one other thing into your clothing via tissues. Wookiee Sage Hood should be pretty good for that since it takes four synthetic cloths. Also, if you find clothing attachments that give you useful bonuses you can put them in clothing with sockets. But I'm not sure if that works either.

The problem is you cannot add those componants to syn cloth. You can only add medical and dance stuff to most wookie items except the shoulder pad (not the heavy shoulder pad) and bandolier.. the items that take reinforced panels get the best bio stuff not the stuff made from syn cloth.

Outfits for wookies:
1. Crested battle padding, with a travellers helm, decorative waist wrap, strapped glovesand a bandolier

2. sages hood and heavy shoulder pad, decorative or sigiled waist wrap, patterened wookie gloves

3. Heavy shoulder pad, bandolier

4. a two-strap bandolier
