This is a positive reminder of how far we've come. Even though we still have many outstanding issues this is just a cheerful look back at all that’s been accomplished over the past couple of months!

1) Wookiee Colors Pallets Repaired

2) Clothing Sort Functions on the Bazaar and Craft Tools

3) Backpack / Cloak Bug Fixed

4) 55+ Colors Restored

5) Long Type Gloves Now Wear With All Vests

6) Crates now only have 1 inventory space instead of 5

7) Clothing Loot Drops Have Lessened Considerably

As we keep achieving more progress I will add to this list, as a trophy case of sorts of wars we have one. Kudos to Alichai for carrying us this far!

(Anyone have any items of triumph that I'm missing?)

*hugs*

Please don't forget one important thing...

I think SWG has done an outstanding at making the tailoring profession very popular and useful (even without decay folks).

I had this fear before the game began that tailors would just be 'fluff' without any real value in the game. I hear alot of gripes on this board but from my point of view, tailors have far exceeded my expectations. Giving us the ability to make syn cloth for armors was brillant, giving us the opportunity to make bio enhanced and socketed clothing puts our items on par with armor (when this gets fixed its gonna be awesome).

The fit and the amazing amount of choices we have for making clothes impressed me. I did not think some of the outfits and designs would be this good. Some of the gowns are gorgeous, some of the jackets the men have a nice (desert command jacket, heavy reinforced jacket). I hope they add MORE options for new style clothes in the future, as they have done a nice job now. Let's hope they add more

I have been able to be a PURE tailor in the game, no hunting skills required which was the big thing that drew me into this game. I was so tired of games where you HAD to kill things to advance, I'm happy just tailoring and meeting tons of nice people and building a buisness.

Good luck in your new position...

Is this thread depressing to anyone else besides me? I look at that list, and see things that should've been fixed the first week of release (actually before launch, but I'm trying to be generous).

Most of the things we're still requesting fall into that category as well. There's going to have to be some serious progress by the next big patch, or I know I'll have to reevaluate spending money to play what is essentially a beta...

Good luck, Vandessa, I hope you can get the Devs attention focused on the most important issues.

I don't know ... when you see a glass of water that is filled to the half way mark ... is it half full or half empty

1) Wookiee Colors Pallets Repaired - Should have been fixed in beta. I wouldnt call this a triumph. Especially since wookies get a horribly limited selection in clothing in the first place, no option for armor, and on top of that, the colors they do get are laughable in scope.

2) Clothing Sort Functions on the Bazaar and Craft Tools - Half fix at best. Numerous examples of items being tagged incorrectly and sorting improperly. Addition of 2 categories that add nothing but hassle in explaining that capes and eyewear do not exist in the game as far as crafting goes.

3) Backpack / Cloak Bug Fixed - A bug that was introduced in a faulty untested patch is hardly worth celebrating just because it was fixed. Especially since it wasnt the tailoring community or the correspondent that drove the fix, but rather the untold thousands of bug reports and posts in the general discussion area from players who had lost backpacks full of stuff and were justifiably upset.

4) 55+ Colors Restored- Half fix. Only affects items that could use the full pallette. At master there is no reason I shouldnt get more options on the other non full pallette items. The full pallette on all items at master would be nice, but any increase at all would be welcomed.

5) Long Type Gloves Now Wear With All Vests - Still plenty of issues with gloves and jackets that are annoying that i wouldnt laud this 'fix' either. Why can i wear cold weather gloves with some jackets but not others and with some suits and not others etc etc.

6) Crates now only have 1 inventory space instead of 5 -Beyond impacting just tailors, this was an effort to appease a crafting population who was pissed at the sudden storage nerf.

7) Clothing Loot Drops Have Lessened Considerably - This one never really bothered me...I'd like to see conclusive proof that items no longer drop which are not craftable.

As we keep achieving more progress I will add to this list, as a trophy case of sorts of wars we have one. Kudos to Alichai for carrying us this far!

How bout things which arent fixed:

-Clothing decay - promised and then unpromised. Long discourses on this situation.
-Bio Engineered Components - dont tell me about the 'we're gonna fix it' post the other day. Dont forget they were 'gonna' add decay.
-Master Tailor/Armorsmith schematic bug
-Items being in game which arent craftable (Vest..Robe..RotJ Metal Bikini bottoms..)
-Necklaces...nuff said
-Bugged color pallettes
-The stupid messages that say that master tailors can produce clothing which serves as armor (paraphrase you know which one i mean)
-The lack of clear indication that an item is sex or race restricted
-Items which arent socketable
-Inability to see items as they would appear on either a male or female (example...suit shirt always appears as the female version with no tie in all schematic and crafting windows...but when worn by a male it has a tie.)

Im sure there's a ton more. Yeah i realize this is pretty negative. This is how many people get when they're lied to and subsequently ignored.

I'm still a little bitter about decay (and still on strike), but credit where credit is due. This profession launched functional and has gotten more functional. In the context of professions that were completely or partially broken at launch, some of which still haven't been fixed (*cough* bioengineer *cough*), I'm gratified we've gotten as much action as we have.

But I'm still on strike until I can be assured I'm not just adding to an increasing accumulation of indestructable clothing.

Vandessa,

I like your enthusiasm and attempt at a positive thread. I agree, all the items on that list are nice, and the tailor profession is not one I'm going to be leaving anytime soon. It is a nice combination of something that is fun to do, in demand, not overly cutthroat, and at the same time rewarding.

However, gotta agree with Sam, I'm also still fuming over the decay thing, and after reading Holo's comments I refuse to interpret what they did as "taking it out for retooling" as some have suggested, but instead think that they simply determined that cutting off the arm was easier than healing the wound. I still can't believe they did that

We need a full range of color as master on all clothes. A dancer wanted me to make baby blue hot pants anda matching metal bikini top. DOH...that doesn't work because metal bikinis have a very limited color range. There is so much to do and they seem to be spending most of the programmers time chasing fires that have to do with PvE and PvP. As I have said before, maybe most of the paid subscribers are in that category. Seeing that the return on their investment is what the bean counters would be interested in, I am sure that that might trickle down to the other employees that make the changes too.

I do appreciate your positive attitude but I cannot be positive about it all until I see some positive results on the main issues that affect of now.

Please keep in mind they are chasing down the exploits and the issues that cause the game to be unbalanced. These fixes NEED to go in before something like our clothing items. Clothing fixes would be awesome but they may not be a top priority for the devs at the moment. Players using exploits to gain an advantage...more important.

Those never end though Akaara, it's not like there is going to be a point in time where you can sit back and say "ahh, we've fixed all the exploits" because guess what? everytime something is added to the game more potential exploits are added too.

They have their priorities, and sometimes they seem amazingly off-the-wall. I'd like to see someone justify the time they spend REMOVING experimentation from the clothing rather than spending that effort as you say, fixing an exploit of making the game better by fixing a bug or adding something new.

My theory on the removal of the experimentation for durability is that they were getting a lot of support calls and CSR tickets wondering why expirementation didn't do anything, or what exactly it did. Since it in fact did nothing, they saved themselves a lot of customer service hassle by removing the option.

Now, obviously, we'd all like to see clothing decay implemented. (Well, those of us who make a living off selling clothes want it). But given how difficult it will be to design, code tune the decay rates, especially if they do the 'action-based' decay (please please please), I don't feel too slighted by the removal of Experimentation for the time being. Actually, I like it, since it makes it easier to craft near a crafting station.
