Something really odd happened to me last night, that I'm still scratching my head over. Perhaps someone can shed some light on this.

I visited my favorite mall last night, shopping mainly for a new harvester, and some resources. I've literally spent millions in this place over the last month and visit it pretty frequently. It's this enormous place with literally dozens of vendors in it (bad bad lag though). It's even got 2 or 3 different tailor vendors in it I believe, one of which belonging to someone that visits this forum. In any case, I was there shopping. There were two other people in there that I could see. One obviously young female carbineer, and a male doctor, both shopping. I was standing next to one of the vendors, going through it, and the the female carbineer started a casual sort of conversation. She then asked me to make heran infiltrators suit. Muttering something derogatory about her ability to find what she wanted or a tailor at this establishment. I felt slightly awkward, and had completely forgotten that I had my tailor tag on, but I mainly just wanted to help out what seemed like a sweet girl, and so whipped out my droid and made her what she asked.

We traded, she paid, and then all of a sudden WHAM the entire screen went red. I was about to reboot my computer when I suddenly appeared on the outside of that building, and could no longer re-enter, the entrance was red to me. Yet at the same time I saw other people going in and out of the building, and the girl I had just traded with was still inside. Then a few minutes later, the carbineer girl came running out of the building giggling that "oh, I am overt" with a stormtrooper in tow (I'm a covert imp by the way). I explained to her my predicament, she said "oh, maybe it's because you helped me", she giggled again, and then ran back inside the building, having a little fun with the situation, saying "Ok, this is a raid, everybody out..." with her stormtrooper still in tow. Then she ran back out, and dissappeared.

I was muttering at this point, assuming that someone had banned me from my favorite establishment for the crime of making an infiltration suit, but then a few minutes later the "red" dissappeared from the entrance and I was able to go back in. Feeling pissed off, and in no mood to shop anymore, and not really understanding what happened, I left without buying anything, but I'm still not real clear on what went on there. Was this a TEF thing? Was this a banning? Any clues?

It's a tef thing . When a covert gets a tef they get booted from buildings like that. Overts canand go in and out as they please, but if you heal or trade with that overt you get a tef and get booted out.

I'm not sure if overts get tefs... they must. But they don't get em for healing or trading with overts or coverts, so they don't get booted for trading.

A lot of people don't pay any attention to this when they're overt. But I'm always very concious of my overtness when I go pvp'ing with my alt. I make sure to tell any docs I'm getting buffs or heals from that I'm overt beforehand, or anyone I might trade with.

Figure it's a courtesy thing.

What he said, what really sucks is when you heal overts in a player medical center and get kicked out.

I've gotten booted so many times from my shop because I was covert and traded with an overt. No matter how many times I try to remember to not do this because I get kicked, I cannot, I always forget...lol

Whew, well, it's good to know that I'm still in the good graces of my favorite establishment, and they are still in mine as well.

It's funny, because I've traded with overts plenty of times, and gotten the message about how I can't trade with them, and all that, but I this is the first time this has even happened. I guess I must serve mostly rebels then lol (shhhh don't tell the emperor).

Yes! You got kicked out because of a TEF. I can't tell you how many times I have been kicked out of my own shop because I didn't notice the other person was overt. Its extremely annoying! Of course, now I am neutral for awhile, so I should have a break from that.

Helpful tip for future TEF avoidance:
Use a droid as your "middle man". You can store things in it and transfer it. Of course, you have to be careful of someone not giving the droid back, but use an MSE

Oh, and get your money up front!

Can you /consent a droid so that the other person can open the storage compartment? I haven't tried that yet.

Actually you get a tef now even if you are overt healing or trading with another overt

I'm a pretty trusting person, and my policies as a tailor/be always reflect that, but even I wouldn't just hand my droid over to a stranger*shiver*, it's just too valuable to me.

That's why I suggested getting a trader droid, like an MSE, which would be easy to replace. Not your crafting droid! hehe. Although I do have 2 clothing crafter droids
