I am fairly new to Tailor. But it is my understanding that you don't experiment on anything. Not even sockets...it is all by random chance. =)

The only item tailors have that accepts experimentation is armor padding, a component armorsmiths use in wookie armors. =)

We can experiment on wookiee armor padding (a.k.a wookiee pillows). All other tailor experimentation was taken out of the game a long time ago because it didn't actually do anything.

*Gasp* yes it did..it raised condition
Clothing was crafted with 100 condition and expeirmention could raise that up to 1000 condition.
I swear I was there I remeber thinking how cool is this and wondering if better resources could get it to 5000 condition.
back in the days of handing out stuff for instant repeated user XP, before the days of standing afk at a factory grinding out a schem for XP,
ah man...that was fun...

Its been a long time and I think it actually did raise condition, but there was nothing that could lower the condition of clothing! Even under the current decay system it wouldn't matter. ![]()

I remember risking my life to mine a great iron out on Yavin. It was up in the 90 percents for Tailor usage. (Our breakdown was 66% DR, 16% OQ and UT.)
About two weeks later, they took away experimentation. What a waste of time!![]()
Yea. I actually enjoyed experimentation even if it didn't really matter.

I would like to be able to experiment. When they fix the issue with decayed clothes still working we could make use of the experimentation to make clothes with a better condition.

Well it doesn't matter as long as there is a percentage based decay like we have now. At 5% decay per death your clothes will decay in 20 deaths (100 deaths at 1% if insured). Because it is a percentage it doesn't matter if the clothes are 100/100 or 10000000/10000000.
