Thread: -TH- Is Bio-Enhanced clothing working?

First off I apologize for posting this in the wrong forum originally. I bought a set of Bio-Enhanced clothing last night that all together gives me a bonus of about +70 Injury treatment & +70 Wound Treatment. However, when I examine my skill modifiers in my Skills window it shows the Injury Treatment as +170. The Wound Treatment displays correctly. I assume this is a bug. What bothers me is that when wearing this outfit, I notice absolutely no difference in the power of my heals. Shouldn't +70/+170 Injury Treatment wield a noticeable difference? Something is wrong here. I read that apparently the Injury treatment skill bonuses are capped at +25 regardless how many articles of BE clothing you wear. I (along with many others), have spent a fortune on clothing like this... only to hear that the bonuses dont stack, if they even work at all. This is frustrating. I would appreciate a clear answer on this by a developer if possible. Thanks

The devs have confirmed awhile back that while your skill mods show that high a bonus, they shouldn't. The +25 is the maximum intended skill bonus you can get from BE clothes and skill tapes. I know it's a little frustrating, but I'm assuming it's a balance issue. If the maximum bonus is capped relatively low, that keeps the game from turning completely into being about who has the best combination of gear.

It's awful that you spent so much money on the clothes, but this has been a known issue for months now. If you were working face to face with a tailor that told you those mods would all stack, then they are ignorant about how BE clothes work, and you may be able to approach them to try and return part of your outfit. If you just bought them off a vendor, then it's not really the tailor's fault.

I guess in the future I'd suggest doing a little research in the boards or in game before making major high credit purchases. The +25 cap has been documented in many many threads in here, and it's well enough known that most tailors who sell BE clothes know about it already.

Selling the +100 suits of medical gear is immensely expensive. I sold a +90 outfit to a wookie last night, and he has another +92 outfit in a different colour. Some notice a difference... others do not. There is also a debate about maskscent. Some scouts have tested it out. 2 master scouts with a +25 outfit and a +72 outfit agree that the +72 was far superior. Their maskscent abilities always broke faster with the +25 outfit.

I tell all my customers that I will refund any clothing they want to, as long as it is still in 1000/1000 condition. Try it out for a week and see what they think.

Medical clothing WILL NOT increase maximum performance of medicine, but it APPARENTLY increases your average. I am not a doctor, and can't test this myself... but others have and swear by it. The only thing I can say is make two sets of buffs and healing crates, keep a running total of your averages, maximum results with both a single +25 item, and the full +100 outfit to see if there is a difference. Try to ensure that everything is absolutely the same... so use the same person if possible (meaning lots of db and cloning runs) to check results.

Whether it is bugged, reality, or delusions of the doctors is still debatable.

Did a very small test run last night, but the doctor I gave an additional +25 Injury/Wound Treatment shirt to add to her +25 pants and +15 vest claims that the extra +25 decreased the range that her buffs fell into—that is to say, the maximum value didn't increase any, but the average buff was higher and more consistant instead of being "all over the place." Eventually I intend to make sure she and another doctor I know have full +100 outfits and see what sort of difference that makes between the theoretical +25 cap and the physical +100 cap…but giving away +25 clothes gets expensive fast, and buff packs (at least the ones they use) get expensive fast…so who knows when we'll be able to run some real tests on this?

Rand, I havea real similar policy to yours. I just explain that they may or may not see any benefit from above +25, that some tests have shown this and that the developer as stated this, but that some have reported differently. I mention that perhaps they can get other bonuses, and then I let them decide. No pressure, but full disclosure. They almost always say "give me more anyway".

There was an interesting discussion about this, I can't recall whether it was in the BE forum, or here in the tailor foum, long before the patch that fixed the bio tissues. Basically, what a lot of people were saying was that they were selling the completely bugged bio enhanced clothing (I chose not to, but that was my choice), and when they explained that carefully to customers that this clothing was likely to give them no benefit, a lot of them simply said "I don't care, it's cool, it's rare, I want it".

Quick question, I know about the +25 cap. But is the +25 cap for the CHARACTER or just per STAT?

Can I have +20 Combat Bleed Defense and +20 Mask Scent cloths on?

I am a relatively new Tailor but only 2 boxes form master. I have started selling Camos with low level BE components in them.

Hehehe. I had someone try and tempt me into trading a full suit of medical clothing for a +4 clothing experimentation tape. I told them I'd give them 4k for it, and throw it in a backpack or drop it on a table for show.

Not that it wouldn't be col and all, but I just don't see us ever getting our experimentation back, unless we get the ability to make skill tapes.

Oh and with my return policy. I sell alot of +100 suits. Even sell different coloured variations to some people.... but I've never had a customer want a refund yet....

I've heard a lot of varying opions on this as well... it'd be nice to see some difinitive results. What's the +100 suit anyway? Fairly new tailor always looking for more info :-)

The full suit is rather specific. This is why most of the Major doctors doing buffs around coronet are wearing Robes of Honor. It's simply the only way to get the full +100 buff-boost

  • Robe of Honor

  • Hot pants or Striped slacks

  • Sunguard or Large Headwrap

  • Leather Trim shirt, Wooly Shirt, or Low-cut Top
