Thread: Surveying Tissue: The Test

The setup:

I have surveying 1, that is +35 surveying. The next level box (surveying 2) grants +20 to surveying. I crafted a brand new wind survey device, I crafted a pair of pants and a shirt that both have +16 to surveying. I also bought some chandad that grants +16 to surveying.

1) Before eating the chandad or putting on the clothing, I "set range" on the survey device. It gives me only the option of doing 64m x 3pts.

2) I "survey" with it, and sure enough, I get a 64m range (then I realize I'm standing on a 55% spot of wind power, the highest I've ever seen, and wig out).

3) I put on the +16 surveying pants only. I note that in my skill mods it shows surveying +35/+51. I do a "set range" and it still only gives me the option of doing 64m x 3 pts.

4) I curse.

5) I put on the +16 shirt. I note that my skill mods now show +35/+67. I do a "set range" and it still only gives me the option of doing 64m x 3pts.

6) I curse again.

7) I take off the shirt and pants, and then eat the +16 chandad. I do a "set range" and it now gives me the option of doing 128m x 4pts in addition to 64m x 3pts.

8) I note that this time in my skill mods it shows: surveying +51 (instead of +35/51)

9) I select 128m x 4pts, and I do a "survey" again. This time it shows my range to be 126m.

Proof that surveying tissues do not work.

Ah, the survey mod doesn't seem to be looking at the second number then, interesting... We should probably do a /bug everytime we try to use these tissues, and tell our customers to do it as well.... /sigh

I had the same problem Pre-CU with survey skill tapes. The only way I could get it to work was to set the range of the tool to the max range when i had Surveying IV. Then I would drop Survey IV down to III. If I was wearing my surveying clothing and eating chanded to give me a +25 bonus to get to +100 surveying, then just using the surveying tool would show me the max range of 128m. However, if I tried using it without the clothing or food in my system, it would reset back to 64m, and I wasn't able to set the range back to 128m. Seems as if they just aren't detecting the adjusted stat when setting the range on the tool, but otherwise it works. Hope this helps with your tests.

thanks for posting this arthur. I tested the clothing the exact same way last night and found they didn't work.

I came here to see if anyone else had posted already and sure enough you had.

Surveying Clothing Attachments do not work after the CU, as well. Same problem - the range is not increased, no matter how much you wear.

1 account cancelled. Still paying for a game I can't play anymore, until my sub runs out. Why can't play? NGE simply does not support the needs for disabled players on various levels.

it was always my understanding that it wouldn't increase your range.. I find it funny that the food does

My question is this..does it improve your sample amount?

Did Pub 22 fix this or not?

guessing not as pub 22 had zero to do with the mods themselves, only them applying to clothing.
