I'm a new tailor starting out and I had a question or two if someone would be kind enough to answer them

Can you add more than one set of tissues to an article of clothing? For instance the Spec-Ops Duster requires 2 Reinforced Fibre Panels. Can I add 2 lots of BE tissues for say Melee/Ranged Defense for example and get double what I would get if I just add one? And also can I add a set of tissues to the Synthetic Cloth that it requires giving it a further modification?

Hope that makes sense!

Thanks!

First, try reading the BE FAQ stickied at the top of the forum. It should answer these questions.

Second, let's see if I can answer.....

It is possible to add multiple types of tissues to one item of clothing, but only if that item has multiple slots for the components. You do not get a double bonus for adding 2 RFPs to the Spec-Ops Duster because it only has one slot for RFPs to go into. But you can add a separate modifier to the synthetic cloth.

Mira has a great guide for post-cu bio clothing in the stickies!

(It has a list of what mods go into synth cloth as well as reinforced fiber panels)

Tissues do not stack in slots -- ie if you have a peice of clothing that takes 3 identical peices of RFP in slot one, 2 identical peices of SC in slot two and 1 peice of synthetic cloth in slot three ----- The RFP will not stack, if you put in mods for +14 Melee Defense/ +14 Ranged Defense (even though it calls for 2 identical panels) it will stay +14/+14.

For this example on the other hand if you put in SC mods for +15 Augmentation/cure efficiency -- it will stack because you have it in two seperate slots.. so it will be +25.

RFP will never be +25 in one peice of clothing whereas there are many options for SC.

This is all explained in the stickies above

Hope this helps

Thanks guys for your answr's. I have read the guide and therefore edited my post after reading it to take out the questions which were answered but didn't see a bit which related to the stacking of the tissues. Thanks!

The bonuses in tissues do not stack unless there are separate slots to put the components (which you put the tissues into) into the clothing.

Edited to add:

This is in the FAQ:

Q20:

How do modifiers stack? It seems like they do sometimes and don’t other times.

A20:

Modifiers stack only if the components are placed in separate slots. When a slot asks for identical components, the bonuses in those components will not stack. Also, there are no items that have multiple slots for RFPs, so you must wear multiple clothing items to achieve a full +25 bonus.
