I have gotten so much busier with the BE clothing and now clothing decay.Players have been buying 5 sets of clothing at a time andsome with enhancements!! I could hardly keep up with orders before, but now its really getting to be like when I first hit Master Tailor which was back in July 2003!

Anyone else doing MORE volume per customer?

Business has definitely picked up lately, but I attribute that to everyone now having mounts and the player city thing dying down just a bit.

I've only gotten a couple of orders of "spare" clothing, but I've sold about 100 clothing repair kits

Yeah, but (and I really don't mean this to sound rude) but you're the kind of person who probably wouldn't have bought much from us anyway. That whole "oh yeah, well I just won't buy your clothes anymore!" arguement is pointless and more than a little childish, because without decay you never would have needed to buy clothes, so again, you wouldn't have done it more than once in a blue moon.

People who are that resentful over giving us a real place in the player economy are also not the kind of customers we want to deal with. Many of us are actually kind of happy that some of you have decided to stop shopping with us. I had an email from a customer that, nothing against me, but as a matter of priniciple he would no longer buy clothes while decay was in-game. I dida happy dance. That guy was a huge pain.We have plenty of nice, understanding, really cool customers, who realize that we deserve some form of decay just as much as the armorsmiths and weaponsmiths. And we'd rather spend our time with them.

Oh, and one more time, in case you weren't paying attention to the 100 other threads on this topic, tailors did not really want this death decay. We wanted slow, fairuse based decay, that would give us a durability stat back and let us have our experimentation back. And let the quality of the materials we use matter. Because currently we have nothing like that. Tailoring is currently a little like Crafting Lite. We have a large variety of styles and colors, but the only thing we have to distinguish ourselves is our sense of style. We want a full crafting game just like most everyone else, with experimentation and material quality considerations.

Oh yeah, and if you haven't noticed yet, clothing decay is a joke. Wanna know what happens when your clothes decay to 1/1? NOTHING. You can still wear them. Reports are that they still give any bonuses they may have had. Further proof that death decay was intended more to hurt combatants for dying than to actually help our class.

So feel free to not wear clothes from us. Go naked, or wear ugly loot drops. And we'll feel free to point and laugh. Clothes are definately a status thing. People are paying attention. If you want to run around looking either like a noob or a really poor character, good for ya! It's definately a, uh, fashion statement.

And I'm sorry if this sounds overly harsh. It's not really directed at this one poster. I don't even know that guy. But I'm sick of people making that same tired "we just won't buy clothes" statement about decay on the boards or in-game, because it's justa pointless thing to say on so many levels, especially on our board. I'm sick of people thinking that we care if every single one of them is our customer or not. Heh, maybe that's the same way the SOE people feel when reading some of those "I quit!" posts.

I can barely keep my BE vendor stocked and I am way behind on my BE orders. Part of that has to do with the week I took off for Thanksgiving to go back to visit my family. (Over a million in sales in 2 days from my BE clothing alone... Did someone put something in the Turkey?) I have noticed that when people come in and buy enhanced clothing, they usually buy more than one piece. I intentionally keep lower end stuff on my vendor for a few reasons, one I want people to try out the BE clothing without having to make a large financial investment and two I want newer players to have an opportunity to have BE clothing as well. A +5 Bleed Defense in a formfitting undershirt will cost a player 3500 credits, and they will see a difference and those items continue to sell as they always have, 10-15 items a day. It's the 40k+ items that are selling in large volumes that are throwing me a loop. Someone bought 4 medic enhanced shirts for over 40K each, the same person...

As for the repairing option, I tell people that they are on their own. I don't repair and won't repair, anyone can make a repair tool in the high 90's with Engineering 4 and being a master tailor doesn't help with the repairs, so why bother? Espeically considering there doesn't seem to be an actual decay besides numbers decreasing on the examine window.
