I'm a Master BE on Valcyn and I really, really want to be fair to my tailors. And while I may be opening myself up to flames by posting here I value the opinion of my customers and you guys/gals (tailors on all servers) should have some useful insight into how I should price my tissues.

Right now I'm charging 100k for a crate (4k per tissue). Looking at one of the posts here one tailor claimed to be getting BE tissues for 37.5k a crate. That is slightly over 10cu for the resources used. I have trouble believing that the BE can provide tissues on a regular basis at that price since it's nothing for good organics to sell for 10cu or more. Not to mention the need to keep such a wide variety (carnivore, herb, insect, wild, bone, avian bone, scaley hide, hide, flora, flora structural) in stock.

Now, thus far I've been able to keep up with demand because I've hired 3 full-time resource gatherers who provide what I want when I want it. My pricing structure with them is very simple: I care about 2 stats, OQ and PE. I pay 1cu for ever 100 points in these 2 stats. So, for example, Carn Meat of 900OQ, 700PE would be 9cu + 7cu for a total of 16cu. This ensures that I get only the best resources (because it's worth their time to go find it) and thus provide only the best tissues to my tailors (I've done several batches of +18).

None of my customers have complained but I wonder if me lowering my prices would help them get more customers? Or, if the economy is just so bunk right now that you either want BE clothing and can pay for it or you don't and could still pay for it!

Please let me know what you think. If you are on another server I still value your input though obviously Valcyn tailors would have a better handle on their specific markets.

The BE's on my server are getting very greedy going as high 7500 per tissue... I refuse to pay that much per tissue especially since there is no guarentee for me that I can then sell the clothes.

So for now I am not making any BE clothing until the BE's set a reasonable amount for the tissues. I would pay about 2000 to 3000 per tissue but not more.

4k per tissue certainly sounds fair to me. I have been paying 2.5k to 5k per tissue, but my supply seems to have dried up, who knows what I'll end up paying if I can even find another bio eng to buy from .

I would say don't lower your prices, keep them high enough to keep you interested in supplying the tissues. Most tailors arn't rich, and it'll be a rough time for em to by more then a crate at a time at that price, but they should still be able to make a good profit off enhanced clothing with 4k/tissue costs, and if they can't then they're cheating themselves and you of the profit they should be pulling.

With time prices tailors can charge for bio clothing may fall, and when that happens tissue prices will have to go down as well, but for now your price sounds more then fair to me.

That would be me which was talking about getting BE tissues for 37.5k a crate

Now i can see why everyone says "How the hell can you afford to sell BE Melee/Stun +4/+18 defense shirts for 4600 credits" I don't know what goes into making those components -- I've never claimed to be a bioengineer All I did was get reccomendations from my friends on Shadowfire, found a reputable BE that they all agreed was solid to work with, and paid his price -- no haggling from my side

I've told my customers, that my price for BE clothing will fluctuate depending on my supply cost -- I just use a linear marking up based on my supply cost (usually component cost + 1k credits + item cost) so an item which costs me a ballpark figure of 3000 credits, and for an original price of 600 (in the case of my undershirts that sell soooooo well) would come to 4600 credits -- I don't get rich from the low markup on MY end, but I get a tonne of volume, and so do the other people in the same storefront as me -- more traffic -> more sales -> more profit.

Just my two centicredits

One of my suppliers sells me crates for 3k per tissue... while another will sell me uncrated enhanced myoflexes for 400 each.. so it really depends on the bioeng. I'd say 2k-4k per tissue is fair. :c)

Thank you all for responding. I was concerned there for a little while but I think my eagerness to get the question answered was making it seem longer. I have left my prices the same but am making a 10k per 100k spent kickback to repeat customers.

Also, I'm not sure if I've said it, but I pay up to 20cu for meat and can still make a profit so 4k is the most I can imagine charging per tissues.

Again, ty to you and yours for helping me out with this. Long live Tailors!

I pay 5k per tissue I think you are more than fair..I am having a hard time finding more than just my supplier that actually does tissues...most bio-engineers I find don't wanna deal with it they would rather make pet stims.

I think the bottoms going to fall out of the pet stim market once the huge CH nerf comes. Bad for them, but maby some moreof em will be willing to produce tissues then.

4k per tissue is double what I charge, but not unreasonable. Hey, I like it when people charge more than me, lol, and I've heard much higher prices in the BE forum.

As a BE, personally, I've never had to pay more than 10cr/ea for organics. That's always been my policy to pass on anything above that. I have to scratch and scrape, but I find them. I'm not super concnerned by quality however. I just don't see much difference in my ability to sell say +13 tissues vs +17 ones. As a tailor, since there is a +25 cap, it really makes little difference. You add two tissues either way and you're at the cap. So I don't pull my hair out looking for the "perfect resource", I take what I can get in reasonable volume and this keeps the price down.

I dunno, I think tissues will be even scarcer if anything. The reason is that like you said, the pet market including the pets themselves and the pet pharma will likely collapse, and this will simply drive BE's away from the profession. I doubt we'll see half the number of BE's there are now in a month or two, especially when DE's start making battle droids. Most BE's are in it to make "cool pets", so I can't see em sticking around to make tissues once the pet market is snatched away from em.

I have my fingers crosses that it simply opens all the BE's eyes to the oportunity that is tissues , tho yeah I can certainly see it driving a lot away from the proff . Time will tell I guess.

Well, I'm MasterBE/MasterCH but I can promise you I'll be MBE for a long time...with or without critters...and I keep 100 tissues of each stocked at all times so any tailors on Valcyn look me up. Or any tailors on other servers who want to sell BE clothes...come to Valcyn

every server has its own economy but where I am i could potentially turn a crate of +16 16 medical components into 800,000 credits. I charge 1k per bonus added. Business is good and my clients never complain about the prices.

I know first hand how diffuclt it is to obtain the items needed for components. My boyfriend plays a BE and I am constantly trying to hunt down the best resources so he can make me nice components. Its a pain in the butt!! FindingniceOverall Quality, Potential Energy and Flavor of ..herb. meat, insect meat, bone, flora, reptile meat, etc in large enough bulk to make factory crates is very difficult and expensive work.

I dont buy from my BE, rather, I gather all of the resources...take them to him..... he runs the schematic and I do the rest. Then I kick down at least 1million to 2 million credits every couple of weeks to him.
