The failure rate for 'repairing' decaying clothing is just too high.

I couldn't even repair a pair of hot pants that I made for a player.

Every time I try to repair an article of clothing, the clothing gets destroyed. I do not think I have had ONE success in repairing clothing. At least give a bonus or something to repairing clothes that you made.

annoyed...

Yes the whole repairing system needs to be rethought! As a Master Tailor/Master Armorsmith (gave them up a bit ago....) I had horrible success repairing my items! A Master Tailor shouldn't fail repairing a silly pair of workmans gloves..............(it's two panels of cloth sewn together for crying outload! how can you fail repairing that?!)

Well my experience with trying to repair damaged clothing left me shaking my head. After cloning the items I had were at 95% because they were not insured--no biggy, I expected this. So their condition was 950/1000. After repairing them they were 800/800. Now this could have been due to the quality of the repair tool, but really what is the point of repairing an item if it's going to be worse off afterwards?

My luck with repair has been crappy as well, even with the +90% tools you would have no idea I was a master tailor with the way my repairs come out.

I'm trying to get an answer on this. Does anyone know if BE mods are applied at 0/0 durabilty? I don't sell BE clothes so I don't have any to test with.

Arthur, I am here and I am paying attention. I understand your concern as I do tend to post alot less than many people on these forums. But I'm here, and I'm trying my best. (and no, I didn't take it as being mean)

In all honestly, I've never tried to repair clothing... what with decay at all being realitivly new *blush*

I'll try some experiments this weekend on TC and see what kicks up *scribbles that down on her to-do list* But there is already a thead, started by Anabelle, about it in the Correspondent forums. Hopefuly an answer will be back soon.

Thanks Anabella and Vandessa, makes me feel good to know that someone is representing us and looking into this issue. I had not heard anything regarding this either way, so wasn't sure.

My thoughts... if I MADE the clothes then why can't I repair them?? Seems silly that I can make cloth and cloth with BE tissues, then make clothes with them.. but I cannot repair something I made???

It's just strange..

BTW: having the best crafting stations and kits really, really make a huge difference in failure rates.

With 95% kits, I've noticed the overall durability tends to drop to 950 when I repair. As well as repairing. I can't say I've noticed a high fail rate. But I don't think it's taking into account tailoring skill. Just the kit level.

Well, I think the 0/1000 thing is probably of primary importance, and the repair success rate would be next most important. Since if the decay doesn't work as intended, repair is meaningless.

Incidentally, I had never ever seen a post from Anabelle prior to her becoming the tailor correspondent, and have not seen one since. Not trying to be mean (although it's going to read that way I'm sure), but kinda feels like we have no correspondent right now, particularly after the excellent job Vandessa had done here. I can't help but wonder/worry about our issues getting visibility now.

Back before they took out the non-existance decay on clothing, tailors had skill mods for repairing clothes. These got taken out when they took out "decay"and I'm guessing they forgot to put them back in again.(much like +55 colors at master tailor that disappear for a long time)

the thread http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=tailor&message.id=20646reports that BE effects show after it hits 0/1000. Whether or not they apply is difficult to test.

Hmmmm, sometime this week I will ask some of my friends to beat each other to a pulp so we can get some clone decay on a +treatment garment (probably the easiest to test). When I have results I will share my info.
