Hi. I've been a weaponsmith for ages and since the new toolset came into game I've been trying to get a hold of one.
Well today a guildmate got the schem and I already had the clasps. Thing is we have no tailor in the city or guild, so I was gonna take nov tailor (I laready have enough xp to train it) and make the toolset.
However I'm afraid I may crit fail it and so waste the loot or a schme use.
How risky is crafting at novice? I know when I was novice smith it was quite frequent to get a bad result in experimental phase or to just crit fail outright but from what I understand experimenting plays no part in tailoring (!?!).
Any help is appreciated.

Critical failures I wouldn't really be worried about...you don't lose a use, you just lose your resources. Sockets, however...if you're wanting 3 or 4 sockets to add more tapes to, you'd better get a higher level tailor to do it for you. (I'm not sure if experimentation tapes will stack or not...). But if it says you only have to be novice tailor, and you're not worried about sockets, I'd say go for it.
